Damn! Maybe I should meet the Rev Amos! However, I'm speaking of the 10 or less that TA Collectibles reports in existence. The originals (orange label) from 1980 with a MEA # of 5290A "Baltimore" & 5290B "Walking With You". Did the Rev have MORE made after the fact since Tori is famous now? Anyone know for sure OR own a "Baltimore"??? I'm hella curious! Danny anyone break the news to ya yet that there is virtually NONE of the music from the soundtrack actually in MI2? NONE! Of course, there's Limp Bizkit & Metallica played during the closing credits, but that's it! No kidding.Tori is not to be found anywhere in the movie at all. Not before, not during and not after. I made my clan sit still until the very last credit was moving slowly out of sight and they turned the lights on for God's sake! LOL! I can't even tell you how bummed I was about that! I mean, geez... I watch TOYS to hear Tori! The whole MI2 Soundtrack deal is a marketing ploy meant to make money by 1. Selling CD's and 2. Getting fans of said musicians in to see the movie HOPING to hear "Carnival" or "Have a Cigar" in it! This next really long part is for Daisy - everyone else can either read or ignore - Daisy, About labor - It's gonna hurt. All the best laid plans you make will go down in the dust. As a Mom of 3 I will give you my best hard learned advice. (Yup, that's 3 labors... one with Epidural, one with nothing and one with pain meds that knocked me dizzy - Demerol in my lovely 'lil IV.) My best advice is to go with what you need at the time. Whoever said that going through great pain makes the Mom-to-be a more superior Mother (read: Earth Mother - Oy!) was prolly a MAN! My BEST labor was the one with the epidural. I was awake, alert and fully conscious for the miracle that was happening before me. With the one without I was in a great deal of pain for a long time and was quite furious. I, of course, turned this anger on my husband, it was a happy time for all! LOL The third labor was during the weekend and the skeleton labor crew was over run with Mom's in labor so I think they gave us all "HUSH" meds! Haha!!! I have virtually no memories of the third labor. And believe me that sucks. My second labor I remember pain, and then, of course, this beautiful baby girl. But my first I remember it all like it was yesterday... and it wasn't... my oldest will be 16 in July. I'm sure your Lamaze instructor has told you about the Epidural window - (meaning there's only a certain time frame when its able to be administered). If you are going cold turkey and find you are losing it take the window. Better you have memories of the amazing occurrence than to bite the bullet and be to wiped out, angry, and succumb to whatever else emotions will occur, and they will - like a floodgate. (Note: Even with an Epi you still will be going thru much of your labor on your own. The window is 5 Cm - 7 Cm I believe, and that can take from 2 - 6 hours to reach. An Epi will just take the pain away for a little while so you can rest up for the BIG moment.) Pregnancy and labor is an amazing time. My goal here was to help you prepare for the reality of it all. Don't be frightened, women have, after all, been doing this forever. You'll be fine, just fine. And I'd like to add my 2 cents in for a labor song as well - "For Your Babies" by Simply Red. It's a very calming song that reminds us why we do the Mom/Dad thing. I wish you 3 much luck, a healthy baby and a labor that is exactly as you hope :-) Let me know how everything turns out. Since there's reported fewer > than 10 in existence, this ones gonna go for the BIG bucks. Judging by the number in circulation at auctions, and the reputed fact that Rev. Amos gives them away at weddings he performs, I'd guess the number in existence is probably not all that far from the 500 that were produced, certainly in the 300+ range. Not that your expecations of around $500 are far off the mark. - -- Ken Tough >> ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 04 Jun 2000 21:55:06 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: my rambling for the evening At 09:39 PM 6/3/00 -0400, wendi smith wrote: >Daisy, I'm trying really hard to think of some labor music... This time I am asking what everyone's favorite B-sides are. To vote, just send me an email listing your five (usually I limit it to three but there are so many b-sides) favorite ones in no particular order. I will accept votes through Friday and after that I will tally up everyone's votes and post the results. Also, when I say b-sides I mean basically any song not on any of Tori's albums so you can include covers and songs from soundtracks-unless of course they were on one of her albums. Thanks a bunch!!! I also paid a piano player to learn 10 instumental versions of Tori songs to play during the meal, but he casually told us THAT DAY that oops! he didnt fucking learn them! We had called him a couple of weeks earlier and he said everything was going fine...yes I am bitter! Anyway, Song for Eric was an ideal wedding song, I think. Daisy Melanie loopgaroo@g2a.net Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Deal with it. "Women must understand that simply attacking or hating all men is just another form of disempowerment. A woman has to realize that when she makes a man crawl it doesn't give her power. All it will do is make her puke eventually. Rather than say "all men are bastards" let's say "all men are infants, until they decide to be men." Calling them bastards is boring at this stage." - -Tori Amos ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V5 #133 *************************************
