I have no clue how the guy got my e-mail address. I'm certainly not his friend and have never deal with him before. I'm thinking he picked it up off the tori-boot list ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 May 2000 10:53:46 -0400 From: Yvette Marie Edmonds Subject: Re: Pyramid Necklace is now available at ToriAmosDirect Richard Handal H.G. said, >Last week I posted on this thread, saying of the photos found on >ToriAmosDirect of the '94 tour necklace: "It looks like a cheapened- >down version of the original '94 necklace. I ordered this necklace from ToriAmosDirect, and it seems to be the same 3-D version Richard is talking about. Under the category of "Concert that made you glow from within, as though in the flush of love", the Tori/Alanis concert came in first placed, followed by Dave Matthews Band and Lilith Fair. At the bottom there is a note from the editor: "We can't disagree-- the Tori/Alanis combo platter was undeniably good. But Dave Matthews-- what's to like? We don't get it" ~~Meghan ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! I deal in Tori wearable collectibles. Mostly, tour necklaces. Yup, I'm one of those eBay people. I can tell the older UTP (AKA: Pyramid 94 Tour) necklaces apart from the new ones, and no I won't tell ya how! LOL When TAD (Tori Amos Direct) started recently to sell the "NEW" ones I placed my bid that VERY moment. I too thought they looked flat in the TAD photo's but I went with my gut and bought a bunch, I recieved my shipment 4 days ago. I can assure you the new necklaces are NOT flat. They are made from the same molds as the original. They DO bend in the middle. Just as the original the new ones say "but I believe in peach bitch" on the outward curve and "Tori Amos" on the inward curve. When I sell a Tori necklace on eBay and STATE that it was bought at a 94, 96, 98 or 99 Tori show... they were. And when I sell a new one I state "NEW." It wasn't uncommon for me to get 60 or 80 for a UTP necklace, 50 for a Dew Drop Inn Cross or 30 for a Raspberry Swirl Girl. Less for Venus Envy necklaces and keychains. Usually around 15. But now I think those days are over. It used to be that we just had necklaces purchased during the actual Tori tours for sale on eBay - they had history! But now we have new ones from TAD too. No one will ever again know if they are getting a necklace purchased during a Tori tour or if they are newly made and bought off the internet. Do I seem bitter much? LOL ***More eBay FYI: 1) Awhile back someone was asking about the Tori Rosaries and I gave 'em Val's link. I think the person had trouble accessing the Tori Rosary site. Well, Val is selling 6 or so Rosaries on eBay now. Just stay away from the Father Lucifer one, that's mine! LOL Starting bids are just 9.99. 2) A pair of the shoes Tori and shoe guru Steve Madden designed for RAINN were recently autographed and donated by Tori to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. CFF put them on eBay and they went for $318.00 with 50 people bidding. 3) Sunday a genuine YKTR CD went for a whopping $560.00!!! 4) I wrote while back telling you'all about my great fortune at winning the signed and numbered Bob Masse/Tori poster of the 96 Madison Sq. Garden show. It was framed, matted and with glass. I won it for 10 bucks. Amazing deal since they go for over 30 without the frame and stuff. Well, I'm looking at it right now in my living room and man is it gorgeous! If anyone wants a nicely framed Tori poster I can tell you where to look, this guy Mark is a find! 4) Richard if you want to sell that necklace, get in touch. (hehe!) *~ MysT ~* Informative Tori link of the day --> Y Kant Tori Read FAQ OK that's all. If anyone would like to see my webpage chock full of the stuff I sell on eBay drop me a line. I have all her tour necklaces and the keychain, Tori books - TA Collectibles, All These Years, Images and Insights, etc., FaeriE stickers, FaeriE books, FaeriE necklaces and more. Right now I have a one of a kind GORGEOUS FaeriE Pentagram for sale. I'm not pressuring or soliciting sales, just know I'm here if anyone wants Tori or FaeriE stuff from a reputable seller. A percentage of profit goes to RAINN. I don't make a lot of money, but it pays for my Tori habit pretty good :-) "The way I see it, the men that I'm with, whoever they are, it's like look, you have to accept that I like ice cream, and I know it shows up on my hips but if you can't accept that, then leave.Go away. Unless the photos are playing tricks, the pyramid isn't 3-D as was the original one." Someone wrote me privately to ask me if I was sure of this, pointing out that all the photos of the '94 necklace they'd seen on eBay were of the same flat version as the photo of this item on ToriAmosDirect. I've been doing some major household organizing recently, but today I was able to find the necklace I bought in '94. As it turns out, I had not misremembered. My necklace is a flat piece of metal which was folded in the middle so as to give the look of it being the corner of a pyramid, with the bottom center coming to a point to further enhance this illusion. The main text is on the front, and "Tori Amos" is on the back/inside. I'm not really into the merchandise all that much, but if no one else here has seen this version then I have to think it must be on the rare side. Weird. You know, there were two versions of the '96 tour book, too--that I am aware of. A quickly findable typo was fixed in the second printing, which is how the two versions can be sorted out one from the other. (The first version claims inside the back cover to have been printed in "The" England. Nice typo.)
