I'm a newbie Winamp fan, and I just figured out how to put all of the songs together so they play one after another, and I have Tori/Moby alternating... they actually sound very nice together! :) Anyway, I just wanted to mention how incredible this song is! I went over to the Dent and read some of the comments, and it seems that reactions are mixed. I really really enjoy this song, it reminds me of 'Juarez' in that it has a very slow dreamy feel to the beginning of it, but it also has the sensuality of 'Suede'... it's so calm, I love it! And then, just as you think it's ending it gets fast and 'Hotel' like! Completely wonderful. Once again, I love this song! On another, Tori-related, note, I was spinning the dial today, and VH1 was playing 'Before they Were Stars', featuring Tori! After that, I had to go and download 'The Big Picture', and I have to say that I like it! It's very cheesy, but it's one of those guilty pleasures that you must get up and dance to! Then, I continued on my downloading spree and downloaded 'Etienne'... I must say, for my first glimpses into Y Kant Tori Read, I'm enjoying them immensely! I have to go and pack now... Lov you all! I can't do mp3's on my computer so a Real Audio version would work really well for me. Thanks. I am not positive if the second one works tho with stuff in separate folders. amy - ---------------------------------- i want you to want me i need you to need me i dare you to ditch me i beg you to miss me ~~veruca salt~ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Apr 2000 14:42:08 -0700 (PDT) From: Jennifer Mitts Cypres Subject: Carnival lyrics Hi all! I've just listened to Carnival several times and here's my guess on the lyrics. "Carnival" I sing to the sun in the sky I sing to the sun raised high Carnival dancer, magical time of youth And as the day draws nigh Dreams fill my heart I'll sing while he raises guitar I'll sing as the night wakes the dawn Will love come my way on this magical day? And will hope stay in my heart? Carnival dancer, magical time of youth And as the day draws nigh Dreams fill my heart and Sing while he raises guitar I'll sing my dream from afar Will love come my way on this magical day? And will hope stay in my heart? Will true love come my way on this magical day? Overlook, oh my love In my Stay... (oh, dear) Stay... (oh, dear) Stay... In my... You... You... (stay again) The way you're walking and walk, the way you can The way you're telling me you're not a danger This man, I said again, I say again I'm not too kind [to the] moon Telling me, well I watch you Kin to you... You... My vision of the song: it's about a gypsy girl who's secretly in love with her first cousin, but it's a forbidden love. However, traveling on the road and doing the show, they've kind of had this hot streak for each other, and it's hard not to want him as she watches him dance and play the guitar bathed in glorious firelight when there's really no one else around to tempt her tummy. Comments? - -jen P.S. The end of the song, when she chants-- is anyone else reminded of that P.J. Harvey song that goes, "Little fish, big fish, swimming in the water, come back here and give me my daughter?" ===== "The common cold virus is the cockroach of all illnesses-- hundreds of breeds, constantly mutating, impossible to destroy... Not unlike the 'boy band' phenomena." - -Jennifer Mitts Cypres, 1999 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online and get email alerts with Yahoo!
