I just was watching MTV with my brother (God, I can't stand that channel!) and I had a Tori spotting! It was some 'MTV Uncensored' show, and she was sitting on a piano bench singing some song with that obnoxious Jesse guy. It was really cute! You couldn't really hear her voice over his, but they were doing all of these handgestures, and she looked adorable! Lov, Liz On an off topic note, does anyone know where I can find a Sarah McLachlan bootleg site? My best friend's birthday is coming up and she is a huge Sarah fan. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Apr 2000 14:12:24 +0100 From: "Danny.Weddup" Subject: napster Hi I just joined napster this morning and downloaded Siren as my first song. I love it! But my dad is incredibly tight with regulating my internet time- I'm allowed an hour a week. So I try and choose carefully so I don't waste my time when I download songs. I thought I'd ask for your opinions on: The Raspberry Swirl sugar coated sinful mix The putting the damage on twilight mix The Precious Things rabbit in the moon mix. I'd really appreciate any info, opinions etc. Thank you! I's asking a huge favour of you guys, I know you'll be able to help me. So I've been assigned a paper for my English class about themes in Literature.. You can pick your own.. And being someone who always tries to incorporate at least a little bit of Tori into everything I do, I decided to write on women writers who happen to be survivors of rape. The theme is not that they're all survivors, but that they used writing as a major vehicle for healing and spreading awareness, etc. The perfect example of this would be, of course, Tori's Me and A Gun, and the many references to her experiences in other songs, if that helps you get an idea of the sort of things I am looking for.. After a few SECONDS of deliberation, I knew that this was the perfect place to start. :o) If anyone knows of any other prominant female writers who are a) survivors and b)wrote ANY type of literature on their ordeals, I would greatly appreciate a nudge or, if need be, a shove in the right direction. If you have anything else on the subject (or off!) you'd like to contribute, I would love you forever! (how very second grade of me!) I really look forward to hearing back from any and all of you, thanks so much in advance! love and LIGHT, Aim __________________________________*__________________________________ GiVe Me LiFe, GiVe Me PaiN, GiVe Me MySeLF aGaiN __________________________________*__________________________________ I Found her. I heard "Northern Lad" at Borders in summer of 98 in CA (right over the Tori Amos Cd's section), "Cornflake Girl" (not sure which version since I couldn't really hear it, BUT it wasn't the album version!) at K-Mart's appliance dept. section in early 99 in NJ, and another Tori song (don't remember which one...I think it was "Raspberry Swirl") at Sears mall entrance by the escalator in spring 99 in NJ, and "Spark" (the music video playing on a big screen on the main floor) in the Warner Bros. Store in Summer/Fall 99 in NYC. I'm pretty sure there were 1 or 2 other occasions I heard Tori being played in a store..but can't remember which song or where. Of course with each time I heard Tori...I had to stay in a certain area b/c if you wander off you couldn't hear the songs anymore. For some reason each section has their own music playing...and I kept walking around until I could best hear the song and just stand there until the song was over! hehe :P Toodles ~ Leif At 12:06 AM 4/22/2000 -0500, Gate Keeper wrote: >Hello everyone!!! > >This isn's really important news or anything but I just thought I'd >mention it. First is a book called "To Venus And Back" which says it is a book of Tori quotes. Then there is what is described as the long awaited vinyl pressing of TVAB. I actually work at JCPenney's (ugh!ugh!ugh!) among other places! And I was walking out of the store onbe time and I actually squealed! Because they had the video for "Raspberry Swirl" in the Juniors Dept! And all the girls down there always let me know when it's on! So I have seen it a thousand times! She rules and she loks beautiful! I guess that exemplifies the "hip young and trendy edge" for JCPeney's.. Hmm...when I hear Penney's I soooo do not think of hip or trendy! Also, one time...a long time ago they had "Cornflake Girl" on my Gap tape at work! I guess Tori is music to but by! I'm not sure...) and they had a mix tape or something playing and while I was in there I heard Suede and Riot Poof. I thanked one of the employees for playing her and he said it was really "no trouble at all." I also heard 1000 Oceans in a small Maine Mall. I sat down. My legs were weak. ;) You all know that feeling, don't you fellow Toriphiles? See a rare cd in a record store and it's all you can do to keep from running past anyone in your way and snatching it up violently, shaking the whole time with excitement....?
