Tori has said that Cindy (Palmano) simply went through the lyrics and capitalized the words that looked most interesting to her as far as the resulting layout. Literally no other reason than that. This is from the rec.music.tori-amos FAQ: (Q) What is with the capitalized words in the LE lyrics booklet? (A) From an interview with Cindy Palmano, art director for LE: RDT : What about the capital letters? Cindy: Oh, I just picked out the ones I thought would look good in capital letters. (laughs) In fact, we did it over the telephone. I asked Tori to sing it so that it if somebody was trying to follow it, it would help them relate. Then I'm afraid I moved it around a bit, according to where it came typographically. Where there was an emphasis on the word, or a word that you really heard... it really does work. - -- Ken Tough Montserrat, West Indies ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 15:22:29 EST From: Surreal00@aol.com Subject: the river hello there precious thingies.. I unfortunately don't have the burning piano picture on hand, but it reminded me of a question I've had for quite a while. I distinctly remember Tori saying in an interview that she would not hesitate to kill anyone destroying a piano (anyone else recall that?). Yet in the BfP booklet, a piano is on fire...which is, indeed, destroying the piano. Does anyone have any info on the piano burning? Did they happen to just build a shell of a piano to burn? I honestly can't imagine Tori purposely burning a piano; ever. Just rather confusing. Any thoughts? :o) Love and Sparkles, Kristy (\o/) "A diva's work is never done!" ~~*Phantom §Visit my Tori Amos website, at http://fly.to/behindmyeyes§ *My homepage: http://www.geocities.com/tori_choirgirl "rolling and unrolling coiling emerging running free running through the underworld into your room..." ~*Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 17:47:14 -0600 (CST) From: ToVenusAndBack@webtv.net (Rob F.) Now back to Me." Interesting interp, but I've heard fellow gun-nuts jokingly referring to their 9mm pistols as their "Nine irons", so that's always been my interpretation. Not that the Supreme Being would own such a pansy weapon. God would use a _real_ handgun, like a Desert Eagle, IMO. :-) BTW, while I've been lurking for ages, this is my first post.
