["mr zebra" ] THE FINAL STRAW! [KatP410@aol.com] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 7 Mar 2000 22:56:15 -0600 From: "mr zebra" Subject: Tori on Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack? Queen's Brian May Joins Foo Fighters For "MI2" Guitarist Brian May of Queen is teaming up with the Foo Fighters for a version of Pink Floyd's "Have A Cigar," and the track is destined for the pending "Mission Impossible 2" soundtrack. According to Queen's official fanclub, the "MI2" soundtrack will be released in May on Hollywood Records. Other acts reported to be featured on the album include Metallica, Limp Bizkit, TORI AMOS, Eve 6, and PJ Harvey (see "Eve 6 Mixes New LP, Takes On 'Mission Impossible 2'"); a spokesperson for the label cautioned that the final track listing for the album has yet to be determined. This won't be the first time the Foo Fighters have tried their hand at the Floyd track, as the band previously recorded and released "Have A Cigar" as a b-side to the import edition of its "Learn To Fly" single (see "Foo Fighters, Blink-182, Smash Mouth On For MTV Sports & Music Festival"). Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Guns N' Roses confirmed to MTV News that Queen guitarist May did indeed spend some time recording with Axl Rose late last year. "Brian spent a week with the singer," the spokesperson said. "They recorded several songs worth of material, but we have no idea what's going to end up on the end product." Rose had told MTV's Kurt Loder last November that he planned to work with May (see "Axl Breaks Silence; Talks About New GN'R"). In other Queen news, two of the band's surviving members, May and drummer Roger Taylor, opened the Brit Awards in London last week with a rendition of Queen's trademark track "We Will Rock You" with the members of the U.K. boy band Five providing the vocals. Bassist John Deacon did not participate. Queen's singer, Freddie Mercury, died in 1991. - -- Sorelle Saidman matthew. my hair grows in a fashion makes my mother think I'm taking drugs and I can only say she's mostly wrong. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Mar 2000 10:29:51 EST From: KatP410@aol.com Subject: THE FINAL STRAW! OK!OK! I am kinda huffed right now! If one thing I have learned though my Tori experience is to accpet other people, accept and embrace the way you are! But when I hear things like ...They didn't look like Tori types. Tell me, dear, what does a Tori type look like? To the Tori concert (all 5 I have been to..is that die-hard) I have worn Khakis or jeans and a plain shirt. I have red hair (obviously died) and that is it! I guess I am sick and tired of people claiming to be accepting labeling me a conformist. I don't like out there styles! On Tori they look FAB! But me...nope! So I stick to my Gap American Eagle garb. But, I am one of TORI'S MOST APPRECIATIVE FANS! I do not mean to be a bitch...but those girls you stood next to could have been me! And I am feircly in love with her! So...is short, repect the preppies! We are just like you! We just like to match and wear cotton! But, Gildefab, I really liked how you cleaned up with that quote! I don't mean it just to you. It is all people like that! I arrive early and I stay all night, I just didn't change for the party. Which makes me a non-conformist in itself... *smooches* Kat ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V5 #58 ************************************
