Okay, this may be the dumbest question ever asked, but does Tori have sounds programmed into her keyboard (the synth)? Just 'cause when she does iieee and The Waitress, everytime the "iiiieeeee iiiieeeee" or "ahhhaaaa" parts that are pre-recorded come on, it seems like she's pushing the keys on the song. And she never plays the synth during the waitress except during that part. just a curiosity.. oh yeah, and those funky rhythmic beats in the new version of God, are those pre-recorded or is that Matt? Why it matters? it doesn't...i'm just ...i dunno anthonY :) gotta find why you always go when the wind blooooooooooows ------------------------------ Date: 3 Feb 00 13:33:23 MST From: the Subject: merry widow and sylvia plath first, one of my favorite tori songs is the version of pro widow on the hey jupiter single (the merry widow version - live)...well, is there an actual version of this? did she do it as an improv before, because she says on the cd that a girl asked her to play it? and, i know tori's into sylvia plath so i figure that some ewfs might be too...i can't decided which of her books of poetry i should read first...i'm looking to incorporate this into a big essay i'm going to have to do so i think i'm looking for the collection which most parallels her life...if anyone just has a favorite that'd be good info too... thanks... a. ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2000 21:58:50 -0500 (EST) From: Richard Handal Subject: Re: BTM2? There was this > commercial for some new show called BTM2 (Behind the Music 2 would be > my guess...), and Tori was on the commercial! They basically listed > the names of bands/singers who will be appearing on the show... I saw this last night and again just within the past hour or so, and it TOTALLY cracked me up. I haven't been this blown out by anything in a long time. Cornflake Girl was playing underneath the announcer's voice as the initials BTM2 moved around onscreen, then, starting with Tori, they showed four upcoming guests as the announcer spoke their names. Then he said, "Go where *they* go." HA HA HA HA HA! I was absolutely on the floor. I have no idea if anyone at VH1 was familiar with the live version of The Waitress and if this was a purposeful reference to it, but I doubt it. I couldn't stop laughing for at least twenty minutes and called a friend to tell him about it. What a riot. Just goofy as heck. Anyhow, the spot then went on to list names of more subjects in the series, and I don't remember a whole lot of detail in general because it was so hilarious to me. > Does anyone know what this is, or when it is airing? Someone told Michael it's going to be on in late February or March. Yes, it is Behind The Music 2. I believe they interviewed band members at the Mansfield show on 8/31/99, and they had cameras at the meet and greet at Saratoga Springs two days earlier. Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Feb 2000 16:02:38 -0000 From: "Mike Gray" Subject: Just in case, news about the rumoured Vince Clarke / Tori Amos collaboration. Hi Guys, This press release from the Erasure Information Service today - Vince Clarke (for those who don't know, which will probably be a lot of people!) was the person behind Depeche Mode (first couple of albums), Yazoo (or Yaz as I think they were known in the US) and more recently Erasure. There have been continuing rumours for 18 months or more now, that Tori will have a very small part on this album, be it as a sample or whatever else. The only two names ever mentioned have been Tori and Katie Pierson (of the B52s) and this is referred to, I suspect, in "Vocalists include Val and Emma (from Erasure's Wild! tour) and brief contributions from several famous pop personalities." which might lend some credence to the rumour. Anyway, as it's relevant, thought I'd post it, but I emphasis that this is only a rumour, and until it's actually released, and we can see the sample credits, we'll probably not find out. Cheers Mike - --- Hiya, There's hasn't been much Erasure news to report during January, but here are some details about an exciting new release you may be interested in: *** FAMILY FANTASTIC - ...NICE! *** Due for release on Cleopatra Records sometime during April this year (exact date to be confirmed) Catalogue number CLEOPATRA 0769. 1: Get Up 2: Treat Yourself 3: Funky Feet 4: Spread Your Love 5: Hey Nu Nu 6: Halfway To Heaven 7: One Love, One Life 8: Better Days 9: Soy La Reina 10: Doin' This Thing + bonus tracks 11: Hey Nu Nu (Trance) 12: Get Up (Bleep) 13: Better Days (Acoustic) The album consists of out-an-out pop songs written and recorded in a pastiche late 70's disco style, but with a modern twist. "...Nice!" was co-written and co-produced by *** Vince Clarke *** with Phil Creswick and Jason Creasey. Vocalists include Val and Emma (from Erasure's Wild! tour) and brief contributions from several famous pop personalities. A video has been recorded for 'Get Up', filmed in Vince's lounge. A full article on this album will appear in Private Ear issue 31, along with interviews with Vince Clarke and Phil Creswick. Cleopatra will be releasing the album in the USA; it looks likely it will be available in the rest of non-UK Europe on another label, and may also be available for download on the internet. A web site for Family Fantastic is in preparation. More details on this album will be announced nearer the time, but for more information check out Cleopatra's web site - http://www.cleorecs.com/ - and there is also a press release available here - http://www.eisinfo.demon.co.uk/jonny/jpreten.html Cheers, Jonny EIS ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 03 Feb 2000 19:29:33 -0500 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: YKTR songs At 09:33 PM 2/2/00 -0500, Ange816@aol.com wrote: > >Why is it that when I got the Y Kant Tori Read cd, that there's only 10 >tracks on there and when I go online and look at it, there's I think 13?
