Hello everyone, I have a few questions that I've been wanting to have answered so I'll just go ahead and list them: 1. Has either of Tori's parents mentioned what songs they like best or what albums they like best? 2. Do Tori's parents usually go to a lot of her shows? 3. I know Tori has a brother and I think she has a sister too-correct me if I'm wrong. Has either of them been to any of her shows and have they mentioned what songs or albums they like the most? 4. Does she have any nieces or nephews? Non-related to the first 4: 5. Does anyone know when A Realm of Mp3's is going to be back up? And does anyone know if the real audio part of Little Amsterdam is working. The past few times I've went there none of the songs will play. Hope I don't sound like I'm being too nosey. Thanks Andrew ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 19:28:38 -0600 From: "Zero Point" Subject: Re: HRL (was 'Re: my veiws on concertina single') I'm not sure I blame vh1 so much for the way HRL was...i mean, tori didn't do a bad performance, but it felt rushed. i mean, i was excited to see Sugar, as well as God. But I don't like that she cut out the second verse of God "nine iron in the backseat.." that part...Plus, I mean, she cut precious things short and we've already gotten that on like two other programs (sessions and the summer rock preview about a year ago) anyway. i wanted riot poof. Bliss and 1000 oceans are also other ones she's done too many times (well, i never liked 1000 oceans so that's too biased i supposed). But at least they showed sugar and God, which i feel are some of her bests. I really hope they don't cut anything out of the PPV special. I love the beginning with God acapello and the lighting with her background. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 22:39:00 -0500 From: "Aimee" Subject: Re: needed a piano players opinion Hey all, First of all, to Kat, If you're looking for a fairly easy, nice-sounding recital piece, I'd suggest one of Tori's ballads . . . Winter, mother, maybe 1000 oceans? (Dunno, haven't seen that one yet) Leather is also very easy, but not terribly impressive, unless you can find & learn the solo parts, which are a *lot* of fun - someone has the transcription on a website somewhere. Sonya Harway wrote: > Two: The stuff is much easier in the books than that which Tori actually >plays, because it is certainly edited by someone and it is probably >transcribed by someone other than Tori. This annoys me to no end. And I hate the fact that they write the vocals *into* the piano part . . . I guess it's done that way so that someone can play a song written for a full band on the piano so that it sounds *somewhat* like what they're hearing on the radio. I wish they'd stop treating us like stupid little kids "Oh we can't sell them the actual version, it doesn't sound that much like the song and it's too hard and they'd be frustrated." Has anyone managed to transcribe some songs as Tori actually plays them? I'm forever intrigued by Tori playing Cornflake Girl on the RAINN video . . . the solo part before the "rrrrrrrr" and the last "Rabbit . . . " I just rewind over and over, she's AMAZING! I want to play that! :P > Three: There are lots of errors, so if something sounds really wrong, it >probably is. There was nothing new.. In music like hers, the lyrics mean just as much, if not more, than the music itself. I have always been a very lyrically focused person. Intensely obsessed with meaning, especially with Tori, when live improvisational additions add new, deeper twists and exciting turns - they add more depth to the lyrics. This particualar performance left me feeling very empty. I wasn't moved to tears nearly as many times as usually (Although the "What'd they do to you, oh my god, my sweet boy" bit in sugar ALWAYS kills me). The editors or whoever was in charge of picking and choosing definetly picked the wrong ones. I, too, was DYING to hear the verson of Cooling everyone was raving about.. But I left emptyhanded. They REALLY should have given her her own show. Oh well.. There is always a next time.. love in T Aim __________________________________*__________________________________ GiVe Me LiFe, GiVe Me PaiN, GiVe Me MySeLF aGaiN __________________________________*__________________________________ I found her, I've got her!! Stations just DONT seem to play her. All I can suggest is a major letterwritting or calling campaign. They play music for money, and if they know we'll listen if they play tori, it'll help. I have only really heard SATY and bliss on the radio, and bliss only 2 times. Heck, around here, NJ/NY they hardly if ever played her while promoting the tori/alanis tour. I thought that would get some play but, sadly...no:( Shari ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 20:02:20 -0500 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: Where Can I find TVAB Songbook At 08:41 PM 1/10/00 -0600, Gate Keeper wrote: >I was wondering if someone could give me some sites that are sell the To >Venus And Back Songbook. EQS also has it for the cover price. They say it's in stock, which should mean that it ships immediately. They also have the 2000 Tori Calendar for $9.99, and the guitar book for $29.99. I've ordered from both of the above websites in the past and never had any problems. The folks at EQS have some nifty goodies you won't find many other places, including promo photos and such.
