The quote I was referring to in particular was from "The Doughnut Song": "Copper to Steel, to hinge that is faltered, one which lets you in" - I never quite got it until I thought about it from an electrochemical point. There's this system called the electrochemical series in Chemistry, and it lists all the metals in order of how greedy they are to get electrons. Metals which "steal" electrons from other metals invariably make the other metal rust ("to a hinge that is faltered"). I kind of thought "copper" may have referred to Tori (her red hair) and "steel" to whom she is singing about. Tori probably didn't think of it quite that way, but that's how it made sense to me. There are others in TVAB but I'm not quite sure how they fit in. "electromagnetically sucked back" - Glory of the 80's "Try infrared" - Concertina. I think this refers to "a chill that bends", 'cause if you do an infrared spectrum on something you get a nice wiggly line and you can determine what the thing is by the different bends. "ether twist" - Suede. No idea! Ether is some sort of organic chemical but I hate organic chemistry! There are others but I'm at the Ecole at the moment and don't have access to me CD's. Hope this has answered your question without being too long-winded!
