BT is Brian Transneau (please excuse any misspelling of his name). You're probably more familiar with him as the guy did the Tornado remix of Talula, as well as another remix (found on the Talula single). He's a techno artist. "Blue Skies" is one of BT's songs, which Tori provided the vocals for. "Blue Skies" is available on the following: * Two UK CD singles. One's got a blue cover, one's got a grey cover. Each single consists of the radio edit of the song, and a few remixes. Unless you're into techno, I don't recommend getting both of them. Each of the singles will cost you $8-$12. * BT's US album "IMA". It's a two-disc set, and should run you around $15. * The "Party of Five" soundtrack. In our Grade 12 poetry appreciation units (in English class), we get to do an extended unit on a particular poet. A few people each year grumble at the notion of studying "those dead poets", so all students are given the opportunity to study a particular musician's lyrics instead. I know Pearl Jam's and Smashing Pumpkin's lyrics have been done previously in this context; I'm still waiting to hear Tori. When I finally start teaching English myself, I hope to use at least one or two of her songs - ones that have a lot of rich imagery and background story - in a poetry classroom. I was thinking of Talula, because of the imagery and also because of the historical background (Henry VIII) to the lyrics. I think a lot of the songs from BfP could work the best in this situation? Any other ideas? Carly said: > I have been scanning over a lot of the msgs that have been posted about > this tour, and on a couple of them I have seen that Tori has yelled at > someone in the audience or talked about how rude people can be. Boy, this is a screwed up impression you were left with. At Holmdel she yelled at some really rude guys in front who were totally dissing her by talking while leaning against the rail at the stage with their backs to her while drinking beer. This is the only time she's yelled at the audience. Period. However, twice she has yelled at local security for being too strict and annoying. Tori's people have clearly been clubbing them into submission at shows since these incidents and life in the venues has been smooth sailing as soon as the lights go out. :-) They needed a reminder for whom they are working. I have seen zero incidents of expressed animosity at the shows between Tori and Alanis fans. I've been to all these shows. I've seen none of it. None as in zero. Zip. Nada. Naught. A void. A vacuum. Others may have seen some of it but I haven't. Most of it seems to be online. Not to say we don't make gentle fun of some of Alanis' mannerisms, but we do that of Tori, too. I love the Alanis show but after staying in the venue for it eight times over the past month it's gotten a bit old. I'm still on the road (God help me) and with no regular 'net access so anyone mailing me will understand my not getting back to you very soon. "i would cry a thousand oceans if that's what it takes" (paraphrasing, i dont have the lyrics near me nor am i cirruently listening to the song.) its so beautiful! you guys are crazy and should look at it under a different light. dont compare it to other tori songs - look at it all by itself. its not plain in any way. in fact, im going to request it for seattle secret-time. :) so if you hear it and dont like it, SORRY! ok, thats my $0.02 - -courtney ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Sep 1999 18:36:50 -0400 From: "Delirium Crush" Subject: Re: concert merchandise my webpage: http://fly.to/JupiterAndBack has all the info on the Merchandise that is being sold...so enjoy!! - -Susan Visit my website at http://fly.to/JupiterAndBack "I think Venus can be anywhere, can be left somewhere if you've left pieces of yourself with somebody else."- Tori Amos - ----- Original Message ----- From: pagina (spanish - "pa-HEE-na") To: ; ; Sent: Monday, September 13, 1999 9:44 AM Subject: concert merchandise > > can anyone give me a list of all the merchandise and the prices of what is > being sold at the concerts? i need to know how much money i'm going to be > spending hehe. > > thanks, > wurmy > > > ------------------------------------------------ > "When you're having a really bad day, and you think something a bit > self-destructive, put your hands in the air, your index fingers above your > head, one each, touch the air with them and say "horns." The cd Blue Skies is on is called IMA. It's a very good cd. There are two versions of the song on disk two of this cd. Blue Skies - Featuring Tori Amos as well as The Delphinium Days Mix, which is just a remix of Blue Skies. If any of you are familiar w/the electronica genre or would like to get into it this would be a good place to start. They are both very good songs, I love the fact that Tori is on this cd. I could make mp3s of both of the songs, but The Delphinium Days Mix would be quite large judging from the fact that the song is 12 minutes and 52 seconds long. ~~Nicki - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "If you call me an airy-fairy new age hippy waif, I will cut your dick off." - - Tori Amos - --- GoddesKell@aol.com wrote: > > Hi Guys, > > First of all I'm looking for Kristy > (RainnFaeri). But jeez, I'm not sure how you could do it either. For almost all other subjects I could think of a way to incorporate Tori, in a direct or indirect way. The only thing I could think of is putting a Tori poster in your class room. Or putting an inspirational, mathematical related Tori quote on the bottom of a test or something. (tori has had quotes relating to academics, or science and probably numbers or mathematics). But that wouldn't really incorporate Tori into the actual learning progress and objectives.
