People were rude, they talked the entire time during Tori's playing time, and I'm *NOT* pointing fingers at "anyone's" fans..*everybody* around me was running there mouth at more than the required noise level. People made life for those on the lawn pretty miserable."HI! The railing and sidewalk are not lawnseats! Didn't pay 30 bucks to stare at your ass!" so we finally resigned to snuggle up on the blanket(for lawn, we did well, we were right in the middle, at the sidewalk, would have been perfect..if not for the standers)and watch the big tv screens. after a while people were tuned out and we just had a night of tori on big screen tv under the cloudy skies. Well hrere's the setlist...I was very pleased with it, although there were only 2 new songs....I got to hear 3 "new" songs for me! I'd never heard them live before... SETLIST ******* God Crucify Juarez Past The Mission(never heard this live) Bliss Tear In Your Hand Silent All These Years*secrettime* Winter*secrettime* Sugar(heard her soundchecking this!) Professional Widow(never heard this live) Father Lucifer(never heard this live) The Waitress ENCORE 1 ******** Precious Things I thought she was coming back out for a second encore....but alas..no. I was bummed. So we filtered out, back to the car for the long ride home. Tired and happy. Oh yeah, I'd like to apologize for the lameness of my radio station. We were only allowed to pass out keychains(pineknob rules), but I really think it's because we have lame-o promotions people who have no imagination. So if you got a keychain cool...if you kept it..great! If you kept it and don't like my station, the plastic bits pull apart easily and you can insert your own photos!*smiles* Take Care, ~~~Becka ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Sep 1999 16:09:35 EDT From: JiVaDiVa@aol.com Subject: Re: My random Tori musings I agree totally about the Carol King thing. Beautiful. joanie ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Sep 1999 22:19:54 -0500 From: Sara Hansen Subject: Stickers licked on lunchboxes It seems like I've had things to post building up for a while now, so... here goes. I made my Tori lunchbox today. I bought a purple Looney Tunes lunchbox, and took off the Bugs sticker (which was hideous) and covered the whole thing in pictures of Tori and some lyrics. I must say, I'm proud of it. It looks really nice. This 1,000 Oceans thing pisses me off. I was all ready to go buy the cd maxi-single, no one told me it was being released later! Or if they did, I wasn't listening. So I went ahead and bought the two song one, after going to every record store looking for the maxi single. Grr. I should really check the Dent before making any purchases. So... I can buy the Australian version of Glory of the '80's and it will have Famous Blue Raincoat (which I've been dying to hear, I never have) and Twinkle? So it'll make up for having the short Oceans, right? Am I completely off here? And is there even an American release of Glory of the 80's? Will I pay out my ass for an import, or will it be slightly reasonable? I apologize profusely for my erratic and unintelligable writing style tonight, my mom is mad at me and I just finished this 500-word essay for the National Merit Scholarship--it was unbelievably difficult to write--and I had to register for the SAT's again to see if I can do any better. (Than 1470, if you're wondering. Yeah, for an idiot, I do well on standardized tests. :oP) So I'm sorry. It's funny, a couple nights before I went to buy the 1,000 Oceans single I had this dream about Tori merchandise. I dreamed that there were new singles out that I had to get, and I was about to leave somewhere when this thing about Tori came on tv. I really wanted to watch it, but then they said you could buy the video as a special package with the new album. I didn't trust them, I wanted to stay home and tape it, but I really had to leave. So I did. But then I found out about a special limited edition Tori jacket, or some crap, and I really felt the need to buy it. Or something. It was ridiculous. It just goes to show you how silly this all is, with the different versions of everything that comes out, and the need to own it all. I don't know. It made me laugh. I finally saw/taped Sessions, in the middle of having the flu. It made me happy. It was so great. Every time I get sick, something awesome comes on tv to make up for it. :o) I bought this neat little necklace yesterday, it's a silver fairy. It looks vaguely like the one Tori wears in some of the UtP-era pictures in Silent All These Years. I've wanted one forever, and now I have one. I'm wearing it right now. This is just going to be incredibly long, okay? I didn't get to go to the show in Chicago last night. But it's all right. My friend Leslie from Alabama (an online friend I've never met) bought me a necklace in Atlanta. Or Nashville. Whichever one was on Tori's birthday. She's so sweet, it made me happy. I can't wait for her to send it to me. This summer I bought the God UK single in a used record shop for $5.99. Who's proud of me, huh? Who? They call me the Bargain Finder. :oD I think this is the last thing I'll blabber about, and it has no Tori content. My mom is letting me go to Homecoming with a girl! I'm so happy! I know no boy will ask me, and I can't get up the courage to ask Shoeshine Boy, so I'm going with the cutest girl in the world, my friend--and Tori fan, there's the content--Kirsten. I can't wait. It'll be my first school dance. Right. I'm sorry I polluted all of your minds with this, but I had to. I'll be good from now on, really. Love, Sara xoxoxo P.S. Richard, did you give Kerri your autograph for me? I haven't seen her in a while. Don't worry, I won't persecute you if you didn't. :o) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Sep 1999 18:44:04 EDT From: Cindy26471@aol.com Subject: cd now coupons online? Okies, well i have returned from "Venus" and i must say i got more then what i expected! Me and my friends arrived a the venue at 12:30pm. We were the first ones there and although i know people were saying not to show up before 2pm that was the only time we could get a ride out there. While we were waiting i ran into Karolyn from 'The Dent' and we hanged out together. (i you are reading this thanks again for the single =-) Anyhoo, so meet and greet comes around and although i didnt end up being right up front i was still close enough to have Tori sign my "Hey Jupiter" single, hand her my presnts to her, and ask if she could play my favourite song "Hey Jupiter". I could tell you all the whole convo. between me her, but is it really realvant? hehe I also was able to get some pictures as well! Every one was so nice at the meet and greet (except for one guy but thats ok) and no one was pushing. I even stepped out of my spot to run over and give The Great Goddess Jolie a hug and afterwords i was allowed back into my spot. BTW, Jolie your eye make up was awesome!!!! I wanted to tell you earlier! hehe This was my 1st meet & greet ever and my 2nd concert. Even though i have loved her for 7 years now, i just don't have the cash flow like you other e.w.f.'s who get to see her like 8 zillion times per one touring! hehe Okies, so we took our seats (we ended up in pit almost, 15 feet away from Tori through the whole concert. Where did you disappear off to Jolie?) the show started around 7:45 instead of the 7:30 schedule, and LotusLand was suposed to perform for the opening act, but for some reason Tori came out and played away. I can't remeber the whole set list due to the fact i was still in shock i actually met her, but i do know she played God, Graveyard, Suede, Jurez, Proffesional Widow, Precious Things (encore), Waitress, Bells For Her, Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Hey Jupiter!!!!! I she played Hey Jupiter and Smells Like Teen Spirit during secret time. I immediatit started to ball my eyes out once i heard her hit the 1st key to Hey Jupiter. All i can remember is my friends holding me up and Tori just looking at me while singing. I remember screaming at the end saying thank you twice. I tried to gather myself back together though once she was done realizing i didnt want to make an ass out of myself (hehe) and held it all in through the rest of the concert, until i got home. Once i got home i resumed balling until 2 hours later i fell asleep! hehe Even right now if i give it too much thought i will cry knowing she played it for me. Well, Alanis' performance was ok but it wasnt that great. The bass was up to loud and a few songs you could barely hear. She wasn't very personal with the audience all that much and she had practically zero facial expressions. She did say "thank you" after every song and dedicated "you live you learn" to us. Her set oer all performance seemed much shorter than Tori' and i think she could have done a little better. I believe she said LotusLand was playing with her? Her background was awesome though! Well, just had to put in my share and let you know how my trip "to venus and back" went. All in all its a day i will never ever forget! I have been forever changed, and will never be the same! Take great care much love you guys! ~*Greg*~ P.S. If any one does have a boot of this show please let me know. i would greatly appreciate it! I have so much explaining to do and lots of apologizing. Secondly I really like 1000 oceans. I know most of you don't. I understand that it isn't very Torish. But still pretty and I respect it just as much as her others. Third I was looking around in CDNow.com and I put Tori in the search. Well, Bt. and Tori Amos-Blue Skies Pt. 1 and 2 came up. And after seeing that I remembered you all saying they were going to be in Atlanta when she was. Who is Bt? And what is Blue Skies? I'm awfully interested. Forth I know there are some high school teachers on the list and I wanted to commend you for wanting to incorporate Tori into your lesson. I'm in high school and I think thats just amazing. Well, i've been quite idle on the list for a while, but maybe i have some input here..just my observation but.. The first time i saw Tori was in Boston, 8 years ago? LE Tour, anyways, when she came out, everyone cheered blah blah blah, and she just sat there.. Didn't say a word, didn't play a note.. She waited for us to be ready to hear her. I suppose the lesser popularity she had at that time helped it, and we were all more than happy to be respectful, a few people have commented on the *childish* screaming and yelling etc during this tour, and the last tour..and the tour before that.. Its something we have to deal with, she's not just popular with the few who listen, but with the many who hear..
