True, you may have them on CD already, but these will be different ones recorded last year in very high quality. Okay, weird topic I know, and I hope I don't offend anyone by bringing this up because it is SO sensitive. But I haven't watched my Tori in NY concert tape in a long time, so today I put it in, and during Little Amsterdam, Tori says: Go on, little girl. That's right. Beenie. Tori. Go on. Say a word to the upstairs baby boy [could she mean Jesus?]. Go on little girl. That's right. Phoebe. Say a word to the Hangman for me. Baby. A shot in the dark, but do you think Tori was going to name her baby Phoebe? The concert's date is 1/23/97. She lost her baby in December, right? I think that's right. Which is also why I still don't get naming the other song January Girl. So do you think Tori would prefer chocolate or yellow or white or strawberry birthday cake? - -jen === I look for the good in everything. Well she seemed to vary these songs almost every night - so she must have had dozens of "secret time" tracks to choose from but, if the live Venus disc is to 'feel' like a plugged concert, will only have room for a couple of them on the live album actually i think some people are sounding a *little* ungrateful here - she's written us 11(?) new songs in the few months since she finished touring and what do we say? "but we wanted BEE-SIDES too!" hey, lay off the lady. be grateful she isn't kate bush! (5 years since her last album and counting) (it is really crummy though the way in america that you only get 1 b-side on the standard release and 1 extra one on the extended one - hopefully, if her record label in the UK can even be arsed to release a single (which we cant take for granted!) we'll get a few more...) IMHO it'd be cool if we got loads of the rarer Plugged 98 tracks as b-s to the venus singles - stuff like the plugged versions of Doughnut Song, Bells for Her, Girl, London Girls etc that will probably get left off the album cause of lack of space.... but that's just my personal wish list! btw i love the whole "venus" concept - people who don't know much about venus think of beauty, femininity etc, but its brilliant glow is caused by sulphuric acid thunderstorms and that little planet can crush a billion dollar space probe in half a second.... now why might tori associate with that i wonder?? :o) love'n'stuff pete ### evrybodyknowsshesmyman ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 10:36:16 -0500 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: Help With Tickets, PLEASE!!! Actually, this is incorrect. You don't get the same chance of getting good seats. In fact, you're going to get -worse- seats this way. When you tell the TicketMaster guy you want 8 tickets, he types 8 into his computer, and it looks for 8 tickets all together. It doesn't look for 2 sets of 3-4 seats together. So you get put further back, 'cause there's likely to not be 8 great seats together. Ask about your local TM (or whatever your ticketing agency is) what their policies are for selling tickets. Around here, it's not worthwhile to camp out, 'cause TM does a lottery. To take an example, I purchased tickets at TM for one of Tori's shows here in Atlanta in 1996. The guy way at the end of the line was pretty unhappy, 'cause he was 20 or so people back in line. However, once he finally got up to the counter, he ended up with a 3rd row ticket. Why? 'Cause he only bought one ticket. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 15:19:01 -0500 From: "Daisy Dead Petals" Subject: I won?? AAAAH! Help! While 99.99% of us appreciate the wealth of knowledge many list posters have, either it's just discovered, or been known to *them* for eons knowledge...This is something that I've seen on the lists for a while now that just bugs me. So person "b" finds out things that person "a" has known and has decided to share this *new* tori news. Some have heard about it, some have not, and maybe some have forgotten what they did hear. Now I know that I'm one of those who absorbs and forgets some. And when these "new" knowledge posts come about, it makes me remember and desire to know more. These posts also stir up some creativity for some song analysis, or just thoughts of "gee, when put that way, it makes the song have an entire new meaning!" I love those posts. I love hearing *new* things, be they *old news* or not. I don't care if blah blah about archived songs is such old dirt, and I for one would "love" tori to release some more 80's sounding stuff, me being the huge 80's fan that I am. I also love those posters who nicely give more information about questions asked or things discovered or where to find everything they could ever want to know about that question. And then there are those who are not so nice telling us *not knowledgable* excited humans not so nicely that this is old news and that *everyone* knows about it. guess what....not everyone does. i didn't and i know quite a few other people didn't. Is there any truth to the theory that there are seats released soon before the show and that would let me get good seats? I'm not sure what to do. I want the best seats possible without supporting Ticketbastard. Tori was saying how she was going to have a hard time fitting the good stuff on the live CD, so maybe this is her solution. Release a few of them as b-sides and save room on the CD for the really long ones (PT, Waitress, Father Lucifer, iieee). Nah, there's no big advantage. You -might- get it a little early, but I doubt it. Well, there might be an advantage. There's all sorts of online coupons available for CDNow and the like, so you could get a pretty good deal. Here's a page that lists a huge batch of CDNow coupons: http://www.50megs.com/momo/cdnow.html Most of these coupons are for $10 off a $15 or greater order. Some have other requirements (such as the $15 must be before shipping, or that you have to be a new customer), you'll have to see the details of the individual coupon for more information. Enjoy! :) /nad ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #235 *************************************
