I know that Gaslight Records has had it in the past, although I dunno their current prices. {And remember that when you see a dollar sign, that's Australian dollars, not American dollars! CDs in Japan are -much- more expensive than their American or European counterparts. According to a friend living in Japan now, it's usually more expensive to purchase a Japanese CD than it is to import one from the States or Europe. Many Japanese CDs add an extra track or two to encourage folks to buy the Japanese release. You can order the Japanese ftch online from CDNow and a few other places for around $30. If you're really interested in it, I'd watch for one of CDNow's many sales and/or coupons. They recently had a $10 off coupon, and they also had 30% off all imports recently. Pair a sale and an online coupon, and you can get that CD for just a little more than the US version would cost. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Jul 1999 09:59:45 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: Final questions/requests compilation for your review At 03:08 PM 7/4/1999 -0400, Susan Stewart wrote: [snip] >I swear, her tour >directors are NOT nice people...trust me. There is quite a bit that needs to be done before the show -- not the least of which is to give Tori herself some time to prepare for the show. Would Tori surround herself with people who don't carry out her wishes or whom she thinks are rude or "NOT nice"? I think not. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Jul 1999 10:08:17 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: Tori finds At 09:58 PM 7/4/1999 EDT, KAPS72@aol.com wrote: > >Hi fellow EWF! > >In my travels this weekend, I found some interesting Tori items. All of the Tori books, including the two unauthorized books you've listed here, are easy to find. Your friendly local bookstore should have them, as should your local Tower, HMV, or Virgin Records. {They should also be able to order them, they're all in print [1].} The two shirts you found aren't all that difficult to find, either. /nad [1] With the obvious exception of the first edition of _All These Years_. The first edition hasn't increased in value, though: there were all sorts of them printed, and you can still find them new in bookstores. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Jul 1999 16:42:11 -0400 From: Janet & Jon Haverman Subject: "Purple People" It was said: >Terry Ferrell >Subject: Japan Import > >Okay I have a queation regarding rare items. > >Today I went to this record store and I found the Japan import of From The >Choirgirl Hotel with the extra Purple People track. It was i think around >$30 It used to be said that when buying the Japanesse cd, you were getting a better 'sound quality' than the USA version. They even said that about UK versions as well; but not so much anymore. Due to the YEN being outdone (worth less) by both the US dollar and the UK pound, the Japanesse releases have to include an extra track to entice the Japanesse to buy their own releases, or it would be cost effective for them to buy the UK or US version (imports for them). "Purple People" can be found on assorted single releases, including the USA 7" JUKEBOX single release of "Spark" as a b-side. Us 40 somethings remember those ;-). There was also a 7" Jukebox single release for Rasberry Swirl (lipgloss version -I do believe) with "Cruel" as the b-side (shady Feline Mix? maybe). Anyway, I do collect the vinyl still, and these are still available. Inquire with!!!! marie later added: >Does >it have the lyrics? In that case, I'd like to see it, but I definitely don't > It use to be a law in Japan that the lyrics be included with all releases. Most have them in English and Japanesse. In all of the excitement with the upcoming tour, and knowing that Tori will be putting out a live album at the end of this tour, we, her ^ÓEars With Feet^Ô (as Tori calls her internet fans), would like to take this opportunity to let Tori know what our fantasy cover songs would be if she chose to cover ANY songs at all on the upcoming tour. We do not expect her to play even one of these songs on the tour; however, we would appreciate it SO MUCH if you would forward this list to her before the tour begins so that if she sees even one song that grabs her attention, she would have time to work it up before the show. To have Tori touring again so soon after the Unplugged show is a dream for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us have the opportunity to catch another glimpse of the magic and giving us with another album so quickly after the last. It^Òs like Christmas! To have Tori do even ONE of these songs on the tour would be the icing on the cake. Thanks SO MUCH for your cooperation. Give Tori the biggest hugs you can from all of us at Precious Things.
