My tix for Charlotte already came a few weeks ago, so I was a tad bit curious if anyone else has their LA/Vegas tix. This is quite lengthy, but if you're interested in participating in this I HIGHLY suggest you read!! :^) I think this is a wonderful idea!!! Here's what I'm thinking we should do: I have a beatiful hardcover excellent quality scrapbook my mom bought me, I think at Wegman's, for a keepsake of the plays I've been in...it was around $5-$10. The pages dont' rip out, and they're about 11x15...we could do a tour scrapbook!!! Here's my input on what to do with the scrapbook: 1)An EWF from this list attending the first show starts it...i'm sure someone wouldn't mind putting forth $5-$10 for something we'll all remember...and if no one will, I'll buy it and send it to the first person! ;^) 2)Starting from there, that person writes a review and gives comments on teh show in the scrapbook. They can then glue in whatever they want, like press items on that particular show, pictures from the meet & greet, those with artistic talent can make drawings of Tori, faeries, the PT group there, etc.... OR we could have as many EWF who want to participate in this per show do it. It could be done after the Meet & Greet at the shows. (or if there isn't a meet & greet, a group could plan to meet up before the show) 3) A PT member (and i stress a PT member) who is attending the next show will take the scrapbook on to the next show. We can designate who will take the scrapbook from place to place on PT before the tour starts. 4) After the last show of the 5 1/2 Weeks Tour, the last group of EWF can present the book to Tori. We should arrange with Tori/Joel/Steve/whomever neccessary to ensure the group can give this to Tori after the last show. 5) Each group at each M&G should talk to Tori about the scrapbook's progress to make sure she knows how hard we've been working on it and to increase her curiousity and/or excitement on this bound-to-be-absolutely-incredible item. :-) I think Tori will appreciate this immensely, and will give all of us extremely memorable experiences at each show, by getting to hang out with a bunch of wonderful EWF and having like an "arts and crafts" time at each show!! *YAY* I know this was lengthy, but I think I have some great ideas on this situation!!! I have a Dissociative Disorder, and this makes perfect sense to me. When some people are abused, they separate their mind from their body so that it can't be harmed. This is called dissociation. It can be a conscious or unconscious effort. When I used to dissociate, I sent my mind into the skies, and explored other worlds in my mind. So, at least for me, I didn't "need a spaceship" to live on the other side of the galaxy. Just my thoughts, and I hope they made at least a little bit of sense. -Angelina ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Jun 1999 17:17:57 +0100 From: "squidgy" Subject: Re: Tripping >From all the emails about Tori's so called 'trip's, with the amount of drugs she appear's to take, wouldn't that have almost certainly have contributed to her miscarriage...after all everyone knows they destroy your body. Another thing,.. I'm very against 'artist's' including Tori Amos publicizing their drug use, if they wish to take drug's that's up to them but I don't believe the whole world, especially the fans need to know about it. Knowing, through the help of the age poll which was held here recently, Tori does have a lot of fan's who are entering adolescence, who are very vulnerable at this early age to any outside influence, and if someone, such as Tori Amos, who these youngsters can idolize, and wish to be like in every way claims, almost boasts it seems, (its obvious some band's love to let people know about their compulsive drug-taking, just look at Oasis) about her drug taking,It wont do much good. I don't believe these fans are old enough to have the sense not to experiment with these drug's which Tori claims to include "Ecstasy", which can cause and has often killed many young teenagers, lapsing them into a coma, and then into death.....I believe that these artist's should have the sense to know that there are people who almost worship them, and have the responsibility to act on that....and to act sensibly. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Jun 1999 12:17:57 EDT From: MadDrizzle@aol.com Subject: Re: lyrics (more on Black-Dove(January)) thoughts on "Black-Dove (January)"........... First of all I love this interpertation! Although i loved this album in its entirety the first time i heard it this particular song didn't speak to me like it does now. I totally feel this whole song. And i too believe it's about someone who has been abused somehow. Recently getting out of an abusive relationship and then hearing this song again.......it just made sense......... I just wanted to add my personal thoughts & feelings about this one small, but rather important part of the song: << you don't need a space ship they don't know you've already lived on the other side of the galaxy the other side of the galaxy the other side of the galaxy **People may think she's weird (space cadet or whatever). Maybe she acts weird in relationships, but that's because they don't know that she had these horrible experiences that effect how she interacts with others. >> For me, in this part, Tori is comparing the galaxy to the mind. It's deep and vast and can take you to many places within yourself. And your mind can take you to places a Space Ship can't. The physical (being the space ship) is illusionary....while the thoughts and feelings and everything else that goes on in your mind is the reality. It also makes me think of how "the other side of the galaxy" can also mean "the unknown". So she has been in that part of herself (that before was unknown) and has learned things about herself because of her autrocites that others around her may never expect by just looking at her. This reminds me of the quote that was on the Dent last week where Tori basically said that you don't know someone or what they've been through by just looking at them.
