There are inexpensive poster frames made of acrylic, (front, and edges that slip off, for easy installation) that come in standard sizes, and are usually available at most Target/Wallmart type stores. You still have to put a nail in the wall to hang 'em, but it's better than thumbtacks :-) >> Oh no....forget about nails or thumb tacks...i now swear by Rubbermaid Picture Hangers ! They are white plastic and come w/ sticky stuff that you apply to your wall and when you want to take it down then you pull the stuff (there is a tab) straight down and it comes off you wall, no marks. I have calendars, framed posters, robes, jackets, and a mirror that are all hanging on this type of thing ! They are great ! They come in all different sizes from the picture hanger ones that are kinda smaller, to a clippy hanger, a larger hook & an X tra large hook, and it says on the package how much weight they can hold but I think most of them are 5lbs. But yah check 'em out, it really saves your walls ! You can find them at Target, Wal Mart, and at places like Home Depot, & Builders Square ! peace out~ catherine :) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Jun 1999 16:18:24 EDT From: XXXPandora@aol.com Subject: Re: Ohh don't look at me like I'm stupid, now! A Toriphile is someone who is really into Tori, like an audiophile is into really hearing music. So most everyone on the lists and those obsessed in RL(tm) are Toriphiles. Some of those are also Ears with Feet. What keeps a Toriphile from being an EwF? If you have any critisism of Tori, her music or her actions, then you definately *don't* fit the definition of EwF. If you constantly skip over certain songs on her albums, then you are simply a Toriphile. An EwF is completely accepting and willing to listen and attempt to understand everything Tori does. >> What a horrible thing to say!!! I really don't mean to be rude, but I was really bothered by this comment. When Tori coined the phrase Ears with Feet she said nothing like this .. here is the exact quote "I want to say hi to everybody on the web... we're winding down the tour, and it's kinda really sad, and I'll be gone for two years, but just... know that you've really sometimes made me feel good when things have been really bad (sobbing), and just know that I really respect you, not as... I hate the word fans, I... I'd like to call you ears with feet, and never use the word fan again because your ears with feet." and the URL where you can read it and download a sound file of it(on the dent) http://members.aye.net/~mikewhy/molly/PAGEONE6.HTM Tori said nothing about who should be designated an EwF ... that was made up by someone who felt like being exclusionary (a trait that I have unfortunately found quite often in Tori's fans). She meant EwF to be for ALL of her fans, not just those who conform to and obsess over everything that Tori feels or does. That is not a true fan. It's the fans who must criticize, and not accept everything someone does because of who it is!! The true fan is the one who recognizes the weaknesses of their "idols", not the one who blindly accepts whatever crap they put out because they are gripping the last branch jutting out of dead man's canyon! please, get your sources straight and next time - take the time to actually read what Tori said instead of putting words in her mouth and making yourself look bad. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone, but it had to be said, I believe that the above description of an EwF was disgraceful to Tori and that she would be upset at the false interpretation of her words. kisses, joanne ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Jun 1999 17:23:02 EDT From: Skylar2@aol.com Subject: Re: Rabbit tori, many times in interviews i have seen, has referred to herself as rabbit. she gets all shy and puts her hands up like ears and says in a little voice "rabbit" maybe rabbit is the tiny, shy, voiceless part of tori. definately i get the shy part from the way she does this. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Jun 1999 14:53:03 -0700 (PDT) From: Amy M Belden Subject: Re: Tori - Led Zeppelin comparison On Sat, 5 Jun 1999 Thisbe5716@aol.com wrote: > Since Tori has said several times that these are two of her biggest > influences, I don't think this is a coincidence. That's my two cents..... Yeah, I really doubt it's coincidental. As you said, they are her biggest influence. Whether she purposefully tried to simulate the drum beat in her song or she just was subconciously inclined to put that sort of a beat into the song, I can't say. I re-listened to the two songs ("When the Levee Breaks" and "Liquid Diamonds," the live version) and the only differences that I can see are: 1)tempo 2)a down-beat on "WTLB" where "LD" has several short up-beats. There's a DJ on the morning radio show on the rap station here... KUBE '93 (I can't stand the station..) Anyway.. everybody loves his show.. I used to like it, but he got rather boring. He calls himself The T-Man... and he finally told everybody his real name.. which was Rob Tepper.. any idea if this is the same guy or not? If so.. I had no clue he did music as well as being a DJ.. what songs did Tori do vocals for? Cuz the Rob Tepper I'm thinking of has the most annoying voice in the world.. but I've never heard him sing.. so who knows. Anyway.. any info about that guy would be greatly appreciated! :) - -- ^_~Megasus~_^ http://members.xoom.com/Megasus/ ICQ# 14241089 *~The Divine Princess of the Church of Daughter-chan!~* *~List Admin of the Xelloss-Lovers ML!~* "I've been raisin' up my hands, drive another nail in.. got enough guilt to start my own religion.." -Tori Amos "Just when you escape, you have yourself to fear.." -Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Jun 1999 17:17:33 EDT From: Skylar2@aol.com Subject: Re: Re: Ohh don't look at me like I'm stupid, now! I've seen alot of people complaining about this stuff.. but it's always worked great for me. To get the small spots off the wall, it's best to take a small peice of the tacky stuff and press it on the wall to pick up the little peices. As far as the grease marks, there's some directions on the package that tell you how to get rid of them.. I think a warm wash cloth and possibly a tad of soap will help get rid of them. I've never really gotten them.. I get grease marks on my posters, but I fixed that but putting a small peice of tape across the back of the poster where the sticky tack will go.. cuz it wont go through the tape. :) Just my thoughts on that... - -- ^_~Megasus~_^ http://members.xoom.com/Megasus/ ICQ# 14241089 *~The Divine Princess of the Church of Daughter-chan!~* *~List Admin of the Xelloss-Lovers ML!~* "I've been raisin' up my hands, drive another nail in.. got enough guilt to start my own religion.." -Tori Amos "Just when you escape, you have yourself to fear.." -Tori Amos ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #163 *************************************
