This time, I'm including justifications. Consider this the second draft or whatever. ;p John Little Earthquakes 1 Mother, one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful songs she's ever written... 2 Me and a Gun, it cuts too close to the quick for me not to include it... I can't listen to it often at *all*... 3 Precious Things, since I've been through way similar situations... oh, Tori... you know me so well... 4 Tear in your Hand, my song of cleanliness and warm water (don't ask)... Under the Pink 1 Space Dog, one of the most quintessentialy-Tori songs there is... divergent, difficult, even dilated... 2 Pretty Good Year, those 8 bars of "hey-e-y-e-y-e-y" are so furious and enraged... chilling... 3 Cloud on my Tongue, a symphony all of its own, but just a girl and piano and some strings for effect... 4 Icicle, that shard of ice wherein you learn whether or not your body is holy or dirty... Boys for Pele 1 Blood Roses, an absolutely furious anthem to purging your soul of what you lost... and I shaved every place where he'd been too, once upon a time... 2 Doughtnut Song, since "you can tell me it's over" is about as vicious as it gets... 3 Little Amsterdam, the girl with the gun and suckling piglet pretending not to have killed the sheriff... it's the good version of Reba McIntyre's "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia"... 4 Marianne, a song without a chorus or a discernably patterned structure to show the nonsense of a suicide... from the choirgirl hotel 1 Liquid Diamonds, the most murky, hopeless song I've ever heard... she can't find it, it's gone... 2 Playboy Mommy, in which grief folds itself into a transparent metaphor, and in which soldiers *and* little girls get their way... 3 Spark, one of the few times Tori pounds on herself instead of her piano... 4 Northern Lad, for when I was only wet because of the rain... poor boys, poor pianos... b-sides (yet again the hardest part...) 1 Sister Janet, my first Tori b-side, the first of many passions thereof... and the gorgeous chorus... 2 Siren, one of her most well-timed, well-placed, most-thought-out works... and it rocks, too, yo... 3 Frog On My Toe, the Southern girl, her Pappy's baby, at work, in all her ladies' hands finery... 4 Here. in my head, since she screams way before she meant to... 5 Butterfly, which I had to include and break the rules, since it has one of my favorite Tori lines EVER, "well nurses smile when you got iron veins you can't stain their pretty shoes"... Lord, woman... the cover 1 Thank You, because DAMN she improved the original... and it's so ridiculously gorgeous... === ain't no way i lost this war and ain't no way you won _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I personally don't like Fiona as a person either, but the fact of the matter is that Matt Chamberlain was drumming for her. Tori was probably listening to it for musical vibes. As for Prodigy, I think it was the same thing. I thought I read that she was looking for electronic sounds and rhythms. Prodigy definitely has that, so I think she was listening to their album, again, from the musical standpoint (vs. the lyrical or the presentation of the music by the musicians). Just my thoughts... Later in the episode, Kelly did call RAINN and we heard a bit of her conversation with the counselor. Finally, at the end of the show, Jennie did sort of a PSA for RAINN.
