The offer extends to trips taken until sept. 6th. so if anyone is interested if they bought a plane ticket by the 27th for shows in august and the first week in sept they can get this deal on a plane ticket. I took atvantage of it to take a trip to see my relatives. 200 is a good price for flying somewhere and flying back. Just some info if you want to fly to a concert. Thought some of you might be interested. Btw, since when did Matt play with the Wallflowers? :-\ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Canadian power-thrush Chantal Kreviazuk recently completed recording her second album at home in Toronto. She completed the recording sessions in a whirlwind 22 days with Jay Joyce (Patti Griffin, Lisa Germano) producing and featuring Matt Chamberlin (Wall Flowers, Tori Amos) on drums, Luke Doucet (Sarah McLaughlin) and Joyce on guitars. Among titles recorded are "M" and "Dear Life." She'll be mixing the record in NYC later this Spring with Kevin Killen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Matthew You and I are underdosed and we're ready to fall. It seems to me that someone mentioned God, but wasn't positive about it. It occurred to me to check my God remix single, and sure enough, the artwork is his. His name is right on the cd insert. :] Mairie http://members.xoom.com/pianoqueen/ Ode to the Piano Queen ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Apr 1999 10:18:56 -0600 From: Holly Rae Bemis Subject: Re: What we know about the Tori/Alanis Tour Anyone out there planning on Pheonix yet? First of all, ya know, it may or may not be a girl. :] Don't forgot all the boys that love Tori too. Next thing, I imagine that Mtv WILL basically fuck it up. I have watched a few episodes of Fanatic before, and it seemed to be pretty superficial. But it doesn't surprise me. I think it will be fun to watch anyway, because it's Tori. Assuming that it does, at some point, actually show. > #2) does anybody know what song mtv put on the "fight for your > right" anti-violence cd thingy? i sent away for it because it's > an enhanced cd and it said "tori amos" and me, being a horrible > completist, had to call and order it (its free everybody). id > really love to know what im getting though, if anybody has > already gotten it??? I would bet that it is probably "Me and a Gun," or "Silent All These Years," considering the fact that MaaG was written about rape, and SATY was basically the RAINN theme song (is?), and this new free CD thing is agains violence. But, I could be entirely wrong, and none of the songs on the CD have anything to do with violence... shrug. > #3) can somebody elaborate on what "blood roses" may or may not > be about?? i've been pondering it all lately... I don't know if anyone really KNOWS what it is about, but it has been speculated that Blood Roses refer to one of Tori's favorite books, Possessing the Secret of Joy, by Alice Walker. In the story, young girls in African tribes are circumsized (which is a less-awful sounding way of saying MUTILATED) when they are young, to remove any possibility of pleasure during sex. Once certain things were removed, they were fed to the chickens ("and chickens get a taste of your meat girl" in Blood Roses). But maybe it's something else. Who knows? Maybe if enough of us write to Atlantic and ask for a 3CD set they'll let Tori do that. It seems like it's only been recently that they made her change it to a 2CD... What do you guys think? Should we write to Atlantic and tell them that we'd buy it no matter how many discs it was? If you agree let's do it quickly. Write to every Tori fan you know. Ask them to write to Atlantic. To save on postage get a group of friends together and send numerous letters in one envelope. Post this to as many newsletters and email lists as you can think of. Let's make this happen. Everyone always talks about how dedicated her fans are. Let's show them how ardent we are! Mikewhy~ if you have a suggestion as to where we should send these letters it would be greatly appreciated. Should we send them to Spivak or Atlantic? Thanks for listening. PS. To anyone interested who would like me to write a letter on their behalf, so I can send it with mine please email me privately. Thanks. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
