I think you're being misleading here, woj. :) You make it sound like all US releases are pink, and that's not true. There is a black vinyl release of the US one, and the catalogue numbers of the pink and black vinyl are the same. Nice of Atlantic to not help us by making it obvious, eh? I -think- that the black US vinyl is actually more rare than its pink counterpart. I've seen the pink vinyl several times, whereas I've only seen the black vinyl twice or thrice. That said, the rarity of the item really doesn't matter in this instance -- the demand for it hasn't terribly increased, so it's still not worth more than any other new record {call it $15 at the outside}. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Jan 1999 13:05:27 EST From: Talulagrl1@aol.com Subject: Re: Tori earrings...answer. << Has anyone else (as crazy as I am) noticed this? >> well tori stopped wearing thoses earrings in the bfp era. and so it can only be assumed that eric had given them to her. and of course after they had broken up she took them off. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Jan 1999 16:05:37 EST From: RsberySwrl@aol.com Subject: Re: Tori earrings... I didn't realise it wasn't in Lianne's discography. I'll email her with the relevant info on that one, 'cause it definitely does exist -- I own a copy and bought a copy for a friend, and it's not on EastWest. Why release two versions? I can't decide. I think it depends on how many there actually are of the pink vinyl, and we have no way of knowing that. The pink vinyl is a limited edition, so they pressed a certain number of those, and then did the "regular" print run of the black ones. I'm guessing that they learned their lesson from UtP, though. The BfP is only available as that "limited edition" clear vinyl, but there doesn't appear to be a black vinyl release of it. I think they caught on to what you said: there's really not much reason to release both a black vinyl and colored vinyl. Not that, IMHO, Atlantic has made much sense on vinyl anyway. Why these little "jukebox" 45s for Spark and RS/Cruel? Why didn't we get any singles on vinyl before BfP? I see no reason that they didn't release vinyls in the US similar to the UK ones -- while vinyl as popular as it used to be here, it still enjoys a pretty good market. I don't think that vinyl enjoyed that much of a renaissance between UtP and BfP to make them suddenly decide to release singles on vinyl. *shrug* But then, I don't understand most of Atlantic's decisions anyway. I'm convinced that you have to be too stupid to work in financial aid to get a job there {and I consider college financial aid folks to be pretty damned close to the bottom of the food chain}. /nad ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #17 ************************************
