The campaign, a partnership with the US Department of Justice and Education, aims to raise awareness of violence and provide youths with concrete ways to fight crime. The year-long effort will focus on three types of violence: violence in schools; violence in the streets; and sexual violence. RAINN will be MTV's partner for the sexual violence component, slated for next autumn. President Clinton announced MTV's partnership with the federal agencies during the recent White House Conference on School Safety. Thoughout 1999, the network will air special MTV News coverage, programming events and on-air promos. MTV will also distribute one million copies of its "Youth Action Guide" to teens and college students.! MTV has worked closely with RAINN since the hotline was founded in 1994. Previous partnerships with the hotline have included a special public service segment on RAINN and a documentary, Fight Back, that interviewed teen survivors of sexual abuse. You have to send it to either her management {and his address is in the liners} or Really Deep Thoughts. During the tour, you could give a letter to her or a member of her staff, but that option is obviously not currently available. That said... It probably won't be read by Tori. She simply gets too much fan mail for her to read all that -and- have her music -and- have a private life. Mail to Tori is dealt with by the folks at Really Deep Thoughts. Your letter -does- get read, just not by Tori. They do forward a very very very few select letters onto Tori herself, but the vast majority are dealt with by RDT. {Note: if you give a letter to Tori in person while she's touring, she has said repeatedly that she reads every letter she receives that way. Again, that option is obviously not currently available.} And that said... Even if Tori herself doesn't read it, I still think it's good to sit down and write out your thoughts. It's a great way to lay down what you think and put it in some kind of order. Mail it, show it to a close friend, send it to the list, or just keep it for yourself to read later. First off, the most important news: THE SITE HAS A NEW URL! please note this and change any bookmarks if need be. http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/5612/tori/realm.html I changed the url because my geocities site was so cluttered with other files that are not of the Tori site. So i ogranized everything into its own directory and thus the new URL. If you should go to the old URL, it will give you a link to the new one, just click that and you are on your way. Lots of Updates, so here goes: TORI PICTURE ARCHIVE This is now up and running. There are almost 1200 photo's ranging from photo's from all the books (almost), magazines, newpaper articles, live photo's, fan artwork, personal photo's and meet and greet photo's among other things. THE MP3'S On the new look of the site, its organized better. Each tour/year is seperated, so if you want to find new links you need to go to each one [i'll let you know what sections have been updated in the mailing list emails as well]. There is also a section on help in downloading mp3's and such, like the GetRight program [for incomplete downloads], and the UNCOOK program [unscrambles your 'messed' up files]. There is also information about the server, etc up there, basically a few other things you need to look into if you haven't already before you download my mp3's or ANY other big files on the internet. All these things come in handy and i've tried to make it as easy as possible to put everything up and all information readily avaliable. I've also added an Interview Section at the bottom of each tour year, check that out as well, there are new files up for that in the 1998 section, see below for details. This is now a FRAMES only site. If you can't see frames [which 99% of people on the net can], then i suggest you upgrade your browswer. Things will look much better with an upgrade and with frames. If by chance you can't get into frames, let me know and i will give you some links to the mp3 pages for you to bookmark. So whats updated as for live music files? Well there is a FULL concert up, which i don't do TOO often...and shouldn't be doing much more often either [so don't ask!]. I have about 100 megs left on this server that i'm using, so when that space is used up i will start rotating files around, which shouldn't be a problem since i think i've got alot of the Plugged 98 material covered except for a few things i'm working on trying to get my hands on. I will also inthe future be working on getting some older more hissy files repaired and replaced with better sounding files. That is given my free time between school and work. The full concert is from Frankfurt, Germany 6/23/98. the sounds is fantastic and you will find it on the 1998 section of the site, just click the Frankfurt Germany logo [in green and yellow] and it will take you directly there. Its very similar to the other full concert pages. As for other files that are songs only, i'll start with the earliest year in ascending order. 1994: the Jackass and the Toad - KABC AM 2/24/95 [tori's first written song] 1996: Blood Roses - Unplugged [request] 1998: Brothers 3 - East Lansing, MI 12/03/98 [improv tribute to the band, sung by tori] Girl - East Lansing, MI 12/03/98 [with the band] Caught A Lite Sneeze - East Lansing, MI 12/03/98 Yes, Anastasia - Newark, NJ 11/25/98 [solo] Girl - Lowell, MA 11/17/98 [debut of Girl] Black Swan - Lowell, MA 11/17/98 [solo] Baker Baker - State College, PA 11/27/98 [solo] Song For Eric - State College, PA 11/27/98 [solo] Oh, Susanna - Eugene, OR 9/13/98 [improv, intense, band joins in, great file] Beauty Queen - Newark, DE 11/24/98 [solo with more piano] Cool On Your Island - Newark, DE 11/24/98 [solo intro before Mother] Mary - Newark, DE 11/24/98 [with the band!] Famous Blue Raincoat - Raleigh, NC 10/18/98 [solo] Upside Down - Binghamton, NY 11/10/98 [ solo] She's Leaving Home - Poughkeepsie, NY 11/13/98 [solo] Thoughts - Akron, OH 11/29/98 [solo;intro to a song] God - Los Angeles, CA 9/23/98 [slow intro;request] Liquid Diamonds - San Diego, CA 9/26/98 [request] Cooling - Alice Radio Sessions [solo] Honey - Alice Radio Sessions [solo] Purple People - Alice Radio Sessions [solo] INTERVIEW 1998: Alice Radio Interview - There are 3 parts to this in 3 seperate files on the Int's Sec.
