It was behind glass..and didin't get a change to see if the cd's were recordable.. Just wanted to know..if anyone knows the differences between this boot's many repackages..were they all packaged in this puff case.?? She's said that the piano kinda looked at her and wanted her to do it, that she never let it have any fun. When I said that "the piano kinda looked at her and wanted her to do it", I meant that Tori's own piano "spoke" to her and said that it wanted to do this song. Tori has long referred to her piano as a living being, and this is just another example of it. I don't have the interview transcript handy, but she said the piano wanted to put on her high heels and have a good time with this song. So Tori covered it. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Dec 1998 15:02:02 PST From: "Shaigirl 19/f" Subject: Re: INTRIGUING TORI Hey people - Not to burst your bubbles or anything, but the voting won't help. On the Star Profile CD, Tori talks about this. I'm too lazy to actually quote her, but I do remember her saying that they were in a hotel room or soemthing and had the tube on, were flipping channels when that vid was on and she was like "Whoa. What is this??". They watched the vid, thought it was absolutely brilliant and then she turned to the piano who told her that she was dying to do it. ..Something like that, as /nad said. e.liz.a.beth. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Dec 1998 17:33:53 PST From: "jupiter spazzz" Subject: sarah cynthia sylvia stout would not take the garbage out! So I downloaded this song from "The Force" and, never having heard it before, realized that it was like a nursery rhyme bedtime story type thing with guitars in the background. so i went looking, and didnt really find anything. on the lyrics search site though, they came up with the same song (poem?) saying it was written by Silversteinn. Do any of you know if this was written as a spoken word song, or if it was a story someone put background music to? I'll attach the lyrics...they are so great. And a perfect song for Tori to cover, since all the words are food! e.liz.a.beth. ************************** [As done by Tori] Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would not take the garbage out! She'd scour the pots and scrape the pans, Candy the yams and spice the hams, And though her daddy would scream and shout, She simply would not take the garbage out. And so it piled up to the ceilings: Coffee grounds, potato peelings, Brown bananas, rotten peas, Chunks of sour cottage cheese. It filled the can, it covered the floor, It cracked the window and blocked the door With bacon rinds and chicken bones, Drippy ends of ice cream cones, Prune pits, peach pits, orange peel, Gloppy glumps of cold oatmeal, Pizza crusts and withered greens, Soggy beans and tangerines, Crusts of black burned buttered toast, Gristly bits of beefy roasts ... The garbage rolled on down the hall, It raised the roof, it broke the wall ... Greasy napkins, cookie crumbs, Globs of gooey bubble gum, Cellophane from green baloney, Rubbery blubbery macaroni, Peanut butter, caked and dry, Curdled milk and crusts of pie, Moldy melons, dried-up mustard, Eggshells mixed with lemon custard, Cold french fries and rancid meat, Yellow lumps of Cream of Wheat. At last the garbage reached so high That finally it touched the sky. And all the neighbors moved away, And none of her friends would come to play. And finally Sarah Cynthia Stout said, "OK, I'll take the garbage out!" But then, of course, it was too late ... The garbage reached across the state, >From New York to the Golden Gate. And there, in the garbage she did hate, Poor Sarah met an awful fate, That I cannot right now relate Because the hour is much too late. But children, remember Sarah Stout And always take the yummy garbage out! I'm Tori Amos and I hope that was a good nighty-nite! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V3 #435 *************************************
