Thanks for hanging out with me today. I'm gonna wind this up with a final song, something that um, I don't know just cooler than cool. This is when Tricky was haning out...I just adore this...Tricky and Massive Attack "Caramel Karma". >[Plays "Caramel Karma" by Tricky and Massive Attack] - ------------- Cute! :) The song is actually called, "Karmacoma". That explains why Massive Attack's CD "Blue Lines" was beening played before some of the shows. Besides Depeche Mode and Tori, Massive Attack and Tricky are two of my favorite artsits. :) BTW, if anyone has a tape of this show I have lots of stuff to trade (including a magazine (little free one) from Atlanta with Tori on the cover). And even though the Unbelievable Truths' singer is Thom's brother, they're still not too great live. (sound nothing like their cd tracks IMO) > [Plays "" by The Sugarcubes] I missed this, but I think it was Birthday. Maybe Hit, cause that's what the announcer said though. > when Tricky was haning out...I just adore this...Tricky and > Massive Attack > "Caramel Karma". > > [Plays "Caramel Karma" by Tricky and Massive Attack] Okay, this is Karmacoma. Just by Massive Attack, although this is the version recorded when Tricky was in massive attack, and not the version that Tricky did all by himself (well, with Martina). As a sorta side note, they played Massive Attack's Blue Lines album during the intermission between the Unbelieveable Truth and Tori sets at the concert I was at, and I'd guess they played it everywhere else too, so anyone who was wondering who that might have been, it was Massive Attack. and yes, I'm picky. People might wanna go buy these albums (I highly suggest the Massive Attack, and I'm a diehard Sugarcubes/Bjork fan), and it helps to know the right name, otherwise those equally clueless store clerks tend to look at you funny. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Dec 1998 21:00:45 -0700 From: "tori bat" Subject: Re: RAINN auctions off toriphiles' gifts to Tori I dont know if I'm just impatient but~ I emailed RAINNmail@aol.com inquireing if they had my artwork... and its been a few days-- I dont know if they're swapped with requests or if they didnt get it or what and I wanted to know if anyone else is/had this problem... thanks for your time! ~Toodlez, Tori Bat! - --- ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Tori Bat! owner of: ~*~ ~*BLuE SkiEs aNd LuLLaBiEs*~ http://pages.whowhere.com/arts/gobatty ~*~ gobatty@gurlmail.com, happy_phantom@gurlmail.com Aol IM: VuuuV ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* On Thu, 10 Dec 1998 10:48:53 Cynthia Lawson wrote: > >> > >Hola, hola, > >Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it was Bethey (Beth Coulter) whom, a few digests ago told us about Tori giving to RAINN gifts she received from EWFs, so that RAINN could auction them off. > >As many of you might know I sent Tori a gift, so I wanted to know if she gave it to RAINN, and I contacted them. > >This is what they replied... > >< Re: tori auctions > Date: > Wed, 9 Dec 1998 20:38:00 EST > From: > RAINNmail@aol.com > To: > lawson@colomsat.net.co > >Dear C, >Yes, what you heard is correct. Those of you who want one but don't subscribe to the fanzine might want to quickly find a friend who does before they sell out of them. The post card said they have 200 of each design. The advantage that you get from DVD versus any other format is the DVD's ability to store and render a higher quality image than a magnetic film strip like in a video. The other advantage has nothing to do with images, it's the sound. It's like comparing a CD to a Cassette of a concert. The CD is clearer, and there is far less background hiss. <> - ----Original Message Follows---- From: Richard Handal Subject: Re: Tori Video thing on DVD To: david.mobley@usa.net, precious-things@smoe.org (Precious Things mailing list) Date: Sat, 12 Dec 1998 13:14:51 -0500 (EST) Reply-To: Richard Handal David Mobley said: > Okay, I've been hearing this stuff about the tori video of the plugged > tour being on DVD. Fear not. They're not going to release a concert on DVD. Tori said it's a documentary they're going to release using footage from some shows in it. The way they were shooting it didn't seem to make sense in terms of a concert video, but it should make for interesting footage at part of a documentary.
