Tori really seemed to be in this really sassy mood, but in a more refined sense (like if she were a pair of shoes, she wouldn't be the thigh-high red vinyl go-go boots, but the black high-heeled open-toed sandals with the straps that go 'round your ankles). She was really cute and apologized for rescheduling the show and all that. We even got to hear a story since she played Father Lucifer. Precious Things was the opening song, and after that was Hotel, (during which I got my camera batteries taken away by the security guy there, although I did talk him out of taking the entire thing since I told him it was my private property and therefore it would technically be illegal. hee. He had to go get some other guy to talk to and then they gave my friend and I a choice between the batteries and the film or leaving the show. But, at least I got to enjoy the last half of the song) which is one that I really wanted to hear during the Dallas show so I'm glad I got to hear it there. In relation to the Hotel situation, I really wanted to thank the boy behind me (I was in row AA, seat 14 or 15) 'cause he was completely angelic and and held his lighter near my camera while the security guard was attempting to take the batteries out, so my camera didn't get all screwed up in the process. So, if anybody knows him, or if you are he (he was blonde, had very striking eyes and I think he was wearing a white shirt, he was with another dark-haried boy and a girl), thank you very muchly, your help made that process a lot less painful. I actually made it to the meet and greet after the show, and it really seemed to take Tori awhile to get out there. In the meantime, we stood and sang songs, Tori of course. A girl named Erin was kind of leading a group amongst the people waiting, but there were lots of people with beautiful voices. There was also a boy there named Finney (spelling?) who I needed to thank. He really tried hard to get my friend's ticket up to the front so that it would be signed, and even though it didn't make it up there in time, I really appreciated it. He also apologized when it didn't make it up there and when my friend got nervous and was nagging him a bit. Tori fans really are some of the greatest, kindest people I've ever met, even if only for a few hours (which makes me think of Hotel. heh.) love, Reagan ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Nov 1998 15:39:32 +0200 From: Luciano Ferreira Subject: Time Magazines Person of the Century Dear Toriphiles/ Ears With Feet I am not certain if this can be considered news, but it could be news by the end of December 1999: > Time Magazine is allowing us to vote for Time Magazines Person of the > Century, which will be in their December 1999 issue. > I say that we vote for Tori Amos as the Person of the Century. Tori says something like : "I talked to a lot of people outside today and the same thing was pretty much on everybody's mind and I think we want to do this for a boy from Wyoming." The lyrics to "War" are ones that I posted there a while ago (notice the "~geministar*" on the bottom of the lyrics). It was the first song on a copy of the '92 Boulder, CO show that I had. I'm not sure where else Tori's performed the song, but since I posted the lyrics, I've seen different interpretations of them that seem more accurate, particularly in the section where I posted: "take a fuel gun take a fuel gun" I've heard: "take the feel back take the feel back" which makes a lot more sense. I've also heard the song referred to as "Numbness", but I always thought that the title was "War". Hmmmm . . . your guess is as good as mine. A note about the Lyrics server, though - I don't think a lot of people realize that all of the lyrics posted are ones that people have sent in to be posted there. And in the case of songs like "Cooling" and "Never Seen Blue", where people are still unsure about certain lines, the versions posted at Lyrics.ch are only one person's interpretation, so don't always rely on the validity of what's posted there. In early September I submitted an order to the UK-based company, OPAL MUSIC, for some very very rare Tori items and the amount of money involved was very high, at least for a poor a 17 year-old student like myself. To use clearer words, I spent $250 in Tori stuff: Silent All These Years UK Ltd. Digipack, Crucify Ltd. Live EP Box Set, Cornflake Girl UK Ltd., China UK, Pretty Good Year UK Pt. 2, God UK 7", Talula UK Pt. 2. Everything seemed to be going OK; I emailed them with my order and my info (inc. credit card info) and 4 days later they emailed me a 'confirmation' message; saying they would mail the stuff as soon as they got my reply. I responded to this message and then it all began. From that email on, I didn't get ANY response from them. I kept emailing them EVERY day and never got a reply. There was virtually no email service. It was until Sept. 24 that I asked a friend of mine to email them for me and see if they did reply to him and, surprisingly, they did. They said they'd mailed my CDs, but they never got here. They told me I had to wait for a full month so they could start an investigation with the UK post office. I did. Then I emailed them again and they said they'd file the investigation and see what happened. I emailed them again explaining them how they had been negligent when they did not advice me to use the 'insure' post service that the UK Royal Mail offers and how I had to be either reimbursed, at least, a great part of the money, or be sent the CDs again. They never replied to *that* message, and after having sent it for the 15th time, I am starting to think I just got screwed over and have to say good-bye to my money. So I am asking you for help... to those who know about this... is there ANYTHING I can do to get my money back? Someone said I could contact my bank and have them cancel the credit card charge, but the bank said that was not possible... so... is there anything else I can do? The service this company gave me was AMAZINGLY LAME and there has to be something that can be done. Can anyone help me with this? I would appreciate GREATLY any help you can provide me. Never deal with OPAL MUSIC; I know of one who made business with them succesfully, but what they did (or failed to do) with my order is just inexcusable. Their service is non-existent and beyond poor. I have kept EVERY email I have sent and received from them... if that's of any help, I'd love to know how. Their URL is: http://www.opalmusic.com/ .
