Hi all you wonderful EWFs... I was wondering if anyone has gotten any extra tickets that you don't want anymore, preferably two, for the Nov. 12th show in Rochester? I'm looking for some good seats for my friend and I because we live in Ontario and couldn't get tickets, they didn't go on sale thru ticketmaster :( So please, please if anyone could do this for me I'd GREATLY appreciate it. I'll pay anything, even throw in a boot or something for all the trouble. Thank you. I have light reddish brown hair, and I tried Clairol's Natural Instincts on it, I think the shade was called Cinnaberry, and it turned my hair exactly the shade of Tori's on the cover of Choirgirl Hotel. Needless to say, I was thrilled. Just a warning, I have found with Natural Instincts that the color turns out darker than what it looks like on the box, at least with my fairly light hair, so if you have light hair, you may want to pick what looks like a lighter shade. She wrote it on her hand and said "well, i think maybe. i'll write it down so i'll rememer to think about it, and we'll see!" @ the show, which was of course AMAZING, she didn't play it during her 2 solo pieces (Here. in my head and Not the red baron), so i figured she wasn't going to. . . but THEN, after her two encores they didn't cut the lights back on, and Tori came running on to the stage smiling, sat down at the piano, and began playing "Winter". It was the most beautiful and perfect that i have ever heard it. i just stood there and cried. That song means more to me than any other, and it was the perfect end to my perfect day! - --rae ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Oct 1998 20:24:58 PDT From: "Kevin Myra" Subject: ! # ALL NEW ENGLANG TORIPHILES # ! time sensitive I know that this is so incredibly late, but last night tradgedy struck. I was gonna bid for the RI show with a friend...but she cant go to the show and she won't help me pay!!! so this is what im asking from some one if interested: I need to go in on the RAINN auction with someone. I can pay for the tickets (since the auction closes in like 40 hours)..and then i could sell one of them (with the backstage pass deal thing) for half of whatever i paid (half and half). right now, both lots are at $510 and they haven't moved in one week...so the price range wouldbe $260-$310... but probalbly less ($270ish). I dont know how to work out details on a post to PT, but if you want to get a front row seat to the sold out oct 25 providence RI show, you want to meet tori, and you want to donate money to RAINN all for just 50hrs of minimum wage work (thaaaat's me!) PLEASE let me know A S A P ASAP! because the auction closes on thursday night (asap) i live in NH if that means anything to anyone... THANK YOU SOMEBODY !!!!! kevin=) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Oct 1998 22:42:40 -0700 (PDT) From: Lanna Chidester Subject: my horrible sTori Okay all you toriphiles out there... i hope you all truly appreciate how lucky you are to have seen tori on this tour... if not, let me tell you what i have gone through in the name of plugged 98 tuesday past- tori played in tulsa, ok. i live in stillwater (about an hour away). my mother had *promised* me tickets to tori, but had failed to buy them when they first went on sale, then she was going through the RAINN auction, but forgot when the bidding ended. as a last resort i got a friend of mine to drive me in to tulsa, where we would buy what seats were still available. we got to the venue and waited in line. they wouldn't accept check. all i had was 20 in cash and checks.... so we drove around tulsa desperately trying to find any place to cash a check, but to no avail... we finally gave up and went back to the venue and i waited outside during the encores for her to come out.... an hour and a half and a mob later she arrived and signed my god single.... i dont mean to be an ingrate, but i would gladly traded her autograph for actually getting to see her play.... friday night- my mom came to visit me. we talked for a long time and we finally decided to drive to new orleans to see tori saturday night. we made sure tickets were still available and armed with *cash* we left to sleep in tulsa (where my parents live) and then we were off to new orleans... the drive was horrible... we didnt have enough sleep to really be awake... but we kept on.... we drove through oklahoma, then texas, then onto louisiana. about the time we came to lafayette though my mom kept saying "what is that smell?" as if there were a horrible refinery around.... i couldn't smell anything... then i got a whiff of it and looked over to see smoke coming out of the steering wheel column.... we pulled over at the next truck stop and called AAA... they towed us to a truck stop with a "24 hour mechanic"--- but the mechanic didnt get there till 7 in the morning. so my mom and i had to stay there all night, and we never made it to new orleans... then it turned out that the mechanic only worked on 18 wheelers and there were no car mechanics open in the area on sundays... so my mom decided to chance it, knowing that our headlights didnt work, and we drove back to tulsa, barely beating sundown.... and i still havent got to see her.... and i probably wont on this tour just a reminder as to how incredibly lucky all of you are in my eyes lanna/gemenai http://members.xoom.com/gemenai "you sign prince of darkness, try squire of dimness" _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? (all other shows too!) particularly to those of you going to the jacksonville gig tonight, but also to those of you going to shows in the remaining leg of tori's tour: i'd like to make a bit of a request. yes, you're there to see tori, but perhaps you'll become interested in the opening band? unbelievable truth's record, almost here, comes out october 20th in america. but they have a hard core, closely-knit fan base here in the u.s. and canada, a relatively small group of course, who depend on communications from european fans for info and who are crazy enough to spend their money on grossly overpriced import records and singles. anyway, myself and many others were very excited when it was announced that tori and ut would pair up for the remainer of her tour. a great combination: especially considering that their record company had originally arranged for them to open up for the barenaked ladies (ewww). we wanna know how their first gig w/ tori goes! it's the first time they play a large venue in america, the third time they play the u.s., period. seeing as how we're huge tori fans here, i'm pretty sure those of you going to the concert will show up pretty early and won't miss the opener. yeah, buy the tori merchandise, chat about, but when unbelievable truth come on... do you like what you hear? are the band really reserved and quiet, or chatty and friendly? how's the crowd reacting? are they paying attention at all? doesn't the lead singer have a brilliant voice? is there any unbelievable truth merchandise for sale? and HOW LONG did they play for? if you're willing to email me w/ your descriptions and thoughts about tonight's gig, and all future gigs, i'd really appreciate it. we can't seem to find any ut fans in florida to let us know how tonight goes. if you're inclined to, you can even email the unbelievable truth mailing list directly (but only if you have nice things to say....), and your post will be read by many anxious fans. do so at: ut@lists.underworld.net and if you tape tori's show (yeah, i too will sneak in my equipment when she comes to town), consider taping unbelievable truth's set. it won't take up too much tape space, and you can scam us into paying top dollar for bootleg copies if you want! hell, we'll pay up! if there's room in your palate for some music other than tori's, and/or you want to find out more about this band, visit the following sites: http://the-raft.com/untruth/ (official. plenty of audio samples too.) http://www.underworld.net/kiosk/ut/ ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V3 #360 *************************************
