'Tain't true. A hacker cannot enter your computer and start messing with your data just via your ICQ connection. That said, be careful accepting files -- be it via ICQ or email or even downloads. Malicious morons out there can send you files that contain viruses, and those -can- do damage to your computer. Only accept files from trusted sources, and -always- run a virus check on files. There are several virus checkers available, usually for around $30, and most of them have websites that you can download virus updates for (new viruses appear constantly). Always be careful! Hell, I got an Excel file at work from one of my customers a couple of days ago that had a virus. That one really floored me. You bloody well better believe he got a dressing-down. ;) There are all sorts of nifty Toriphiles on ICQ. I know that the Usenet newsgroup rec.music.tori-amos maintains a listing of rmta'ers on ICQ. That list is available at http://www.rmta.org/rmta. I believe that there's another list that also maintains a directory. Perhaps someone here (not me!) would be interested in compiling a similar list and putting it on the web...? Not that it changes anything, but I'd like to point out that a CD single costs about $8 where I live. Any excuse to gripe. On a different note, anyone else read "The Kindly Ones" by Neil Gaiman?
