(for sure) and then some other was played before tori got on and i never noticed what was playing after the show (sorry, you *have* to go to denny's after a tori show and drink coffee for your trek back, its tradition). massive attack *was* played before the kansas city and norman shows (for sure). the other ones i have no idea. i think the roadies pick the music, but don't kill me if i'm wrong ;) hope this helps ally ne ed a li t tle joy http://altern.org/icicle o n my h e a d /b lu e sk ies http://altern.org/icicle/bootlegs ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 09 Sep 1998 02:20:34 PDT From: "Theo van Dijk" Subject: Raspberry Swirl Hi there, I just got back from vacation and immediately went to my local record store thinking the Raspberry Swirl single would be there by now....What happened,it's still not for sale.... Buy some high speed film (1000ISO or higher). 2. Increase your shutter speed if your cameral allows you to do so. With higher speed film, it takes less light to get a full exposure (or don't if you want the Charles Peterson effect :) 3. Try to avoid taking pictures when there is alot of red light on the stage unless you want a grainy and somewhat eerie effect. For clear pictures with the most definition, take pictures when the bright white stage lights/limelite's are on Tori. 4. Try to get close. I know it's hard sometimes but it does pay off since it's really hard to get telescopic lenses into venues (because of their size). 3 days until the Seattle show!!!!!!!!! I apologize if this has been addressed already and hope it helps. Is the Raspberry Swirl single worth purchasing? The descriptions I've read make one sound like a dance version. Being someone who doesn't listen much to the remixes of her songs (PF, for example), is it a worthwhile purchase for sonic, and not necessarily just collector's reasons? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Sep 1998 11:01:53 EDT From: JLee833093@aol.com Subject: Tori Tickets for Sept 16 Sacramento show! hey guys, i have two tickets for tori's show at the arco arena on Sept 16th. i've tried everything possible, but neither my friend nor I will be able to make that show =(. the tickets are for seat 7 and 8, section 1, row B (second row!). as of now, i am asking for face value obo, e-mail me back if interested or would like more details. joanne ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 09 Sep 1998 15:36:14 -0400 From: Tripp Gwyn Subject: Local Store has just Answered ALL JS questions.. After talking to Camelot and Blockbuster today, all my JS questions were answered. Now they're showing ONLY 1 version set for release on the 15th. The CD is enchanced and has 2 B-sides (NEver Seen Blue and Beulah Land). It is VERY cheap, Blockbuster is saying $2.99 while Camelot says $3.25. They told me that a lot of artists were releasing CHEAP ENCHANCED singles lately. They also told me the release date was the 15th. Now, there will be a tape version. It's two tracks, with Never Seen Blue as the B-side. If you have ANYMORE questions about this, e-mail me. The Massive Attack album Protection has been played before Tori and after The Devlins at every show I've seen in The States since the tour returned from Europe. From the earliest days of the club tour and at least for a while into the Europe tour, Steve Caton's copy of the CD reissue of the 1971 David Bowie album Hunky Dory was played, but the crew got sick of it. (Sorry. I hear a lot of things and I thought that was interesting. Steve said one of his main guitar influences was Bowie.) I have no idea how they ended up playing Massive Attack when they canned the Bowie. Massive Attack is on tour, now, and I hope someone has a chance to talk to them and tell them that Protection is getting a lot of airplay at Tori concerts. :-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V3 #317 *************************************
