About Total Request... while I think it's a good idea to do the Jackie's Strength thing, I doubt it would ever work. Because, number one, we'd need a LOT of support... if someone could get a proggy that mailbombs people w/ every letter having a different addy, that MIGHT work, if we weren't caught. But I don't even think one of those EXISTS, so... second, let's say for example it DID work and Tori bumped out, say, Beastie Boys (I grabbed it from the top of my head, sorry for any BB fans). MTV would probably not allow this to happen and f*ck up the votes anyway so the Boys got on and Tori didn't. We'd need to at least get her to spot 7 for anything to happen. And number 3... someone mentioned MTV probably not even counting the votes, that is probably true. MTV is soooo commercialized anyway. If Tori DID get on the countdown tho, it would be a LOT easier, since some people would see her and would vote for her video instead of "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" or whatever, and a chain reaction might happen. But I DOUBT she'd get on. Honestly... if we REALLY wanted to do a successful "Jackie's Day", we should do this. 1) WAIT until the single is released, just 'cause. 2) Have AT LEAST 2 weeks in advance. 3) ADVERTISE LIKE CRAZY. 4) If there IS such a forementioned prog, well, that'd come in handy. and 5) how about a letter writing campaign to MTV asking them to play more Tori? I mean... god, I think we've all seen miss anorexic Alleliah or however you spell it a few thousand times... give a new artist a chance! :) If we ever get a REALLY BIG Jackie Day going, e-mail me and I'll try to help y'all out. But I think we need to take a little more time w/ this. We shouldn't rush it. I actually think, if Tori would have one big alternative hit, "She's Your Cocaine" would work, but there isn't a video OR single for it... but hey. Just a thought. :) Love Always, Melissa Leubner And I know I have been driven like the snow. ~~http://members.tripod.com/~ToriAmosBsides~ ~~Tori Amos B-side Interpetation Search~ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 05 Sep 1998 19:46:45 PDT From: "precious red" Subject: tori-filled dreams hi everyone- i just remembered that i dreamed of meeting tori at a meet & greet last night. i've never met her before, nor been to a meet & greet. i suppose everyone's stories and photos about that having been having an effect on me. anyway, i was standing in line waiting my turn patiently but a tad anxiously, like a good EWF should, when she finally came up to me. she was very sweet when i asked her to sign my utp songbook (which i don't even have - but will be venturing out to get write away). i told her that i didn't really need to hear any song at the concert - the only artist that i would think that way about. so she asked me what i wanted to hear and i said, really i love everything - but having said that - i love cooling and in the springtime of his voodoo. she smiled warmly and moved on. so has anyone else had a cool, printable tori dream? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V3 #313 *************************************
