I believe that they exist and are within my physical space almost all the time. They didn't used to be around because I denied them. But since I have reopened that childlike part of my mind, I find them surrounding me. They bring me much luck, and happiness. Not to say everything is simply grand with the fairies. Sometimes they are real snots and conspire with the fates to make me learn incredibly hard lessons in little time. They take something away to see how I handle life without it (ie, love, money, etc.). But the rewards I get for accepting them and for learning the lessons they set for me are wonderful. I can't tell you what riches I have experienced, from material to spiritual things, all because I gave my belief to the fairies. I do like to warn people--fairies are not sweet and kind and loving all the time. They have a wicked sense of humor. On their wings, where butterflies have tiny feathers, fairies have tiny spikes that will rip your skin off if you try to hold it. Fairies are both male and female, and despite the fact that they will appear to be cold and uncaring on the surface, they have more consideration for the human race, more compassion and empathy than does the average person. We could do well by learning from the fairies. Look what it has done for Tori. I wish you all the eyes of a child to see the fairies that are in your life, that they may touch you and show you that there really is a silver lining behind every cloud, if you only know how to look for it. I must confess that I can't see any track off Choirgirl reaching high chart placings. I mean, just look at the charts. Unless one of the tracks is butchered by a remixer again, I think it's only sensible to not release new singles. I mean, record companies are not in it for charity (i.e. giving us fans an opportunity to keep buying items) but they want to appeal to a bigger market, which would make it attractive to release something on single. It is of course regrettable that the taste of "the audience" (whatever that is) has developed into a big black hole of nothingness, but we can't really help it. We can only hope that the US singles will be a success, and of course, the fact that RS will be released in Germany is pretty hopeful too. This means that Europe has not been given up entirely. I wonder if Tori should not invest a little more in Europe - the US is being pushed to no end, but as far as Choirgirl is concerned, that album is 'over and out' now already over here. Subject: Re: fascist---FINALLYsome real Tori discussion I think "nine inch nails" has a double meaning, as do a lot of things Tori has to say in her songs. Nine inch nails refers to the "pretty girls" being Christian (as Jesus was crucified on the cross with nine inch nails), and crucifying other girls who get in their way...but also, has anyone every noticed that, at least around where I live, popular, pretty girls always have long, polished finger nails...and if you wanted to overemphasize for effect, you could say they were "nine inch nails". Little fascist panties means that these girls and their sexuality are serving only the leader of the group, not themselves or each other. Those panties being tucked inside the heart of every nice girl shows that every girl who is a "nice" girl, not a slut (I HATE that word!) or an outspoken person (like Tori usually is...), has those standards of serving the leader with her sex and her thoughts at the center (heart) of everything she does or says. Understandably, Tori is angry at them for betraying themselves and other females with this fascism. This is just my opinion. Yours may be different. That's okay. Variety is the spice of life. Hello everyone. If you can't guess what topic I am about to preach on tonight, then you haven't been following the plot very closely... ;) Ever since my scans of the Raspberry Swirl promo CD appeared on MikeWhys pages, I've been getting e-mail from people asking me where I got it, and if I might get them a copy. Well, today, I armed myself with a wad of cash, and headed to my local rare record emporium, where I was not entirely surprised to find 7 copies of the 2-track promo. You know where this is headed, don't you? It's going to be a sales pitch, right? Wrong. I picked some up, prepared 36 UK Pounds cash for 4 (All I could afford), and was rather taken aback, when the cashier demanded ... .... 160 Pounds. Yes indeed, for those who are mathematically-impaired, let me draw the map - these CDs are being sold for 40, forty, 4-0 UK Pounds each. (That's $64) and the Vinyl promo, featuring the Sticky mixes, were 45. Shocked? You bet. Mike ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Aug 1998 15:08:09 PDT From: "Jamie Hall" Subject: Father Lucifer Explanation!!!! Well here's my stance on "Father Lucifer". First of all I think she used the term "Lucifer" instead of the other terms used for him like "the devil" or "satan", because (I don't know if you know the story of Lucifer but here it is) Lucifer wasn't always evil. Lucifer was an angel. God's most precious angel. Lucifer was god's most favorite angel, and ultimately the angel of music too (do you see the irony of the music part here, that's why I think she used Lucifer instead of the other names). Lucifer in turn took advantage of the fact that god liked him so much and became evil and jealous (all of what god didn't want). Then Lucifer fell from heaven (down into hell) and then became an angel of satan. As for the rest of the song, I think that she's personifying Lucifer as if he was a real person and not an angel of satan (I.E. "'FATHER' Lucifer", "you never looked so sane, you always did prefer the drizzle to the rain, tell me that you're still in love with that milkmaid"). I also believe she's talking about how the devil can posses her sometimes or her dark side can take over and how she's trying to get a way from it (I.E. [i'll further explain all of these lines later],"you never looked so sane", "nothings gonna stop me from floating","he says I run and then I run from him and then I run"). In the line "you never looked so sane", I think that the devil's appealed to her need for greed and other things evil (I.E. she's saying that the devil's ways are sane). In the line "nothings gonna stop me from floating", I think she's talking about her spirit floating away from her and how satan's spirit is flowing into her. In the line "he says I run and then I run from him and then I run", she's talking about running from this evil spirit and also running from the dark side of herself. In the part where she says "he says he reckons I'm a watercolor stain", the devil is telling her that he won't stay long like a watercolor stain that would fade away. I'm not sure what the "he didn't see me watching from the aeroplane" part means. The two lines "he wiped a tear and then he threw away your appleseed", I feel that god wipes her tear as she realizes what she has done letting evil inside, and the part about the appleseed is saying that her dreams were thrown away because of her foolish decision. In the line "everyday's my wedding day", she's talking about everyday being a big decision that will decide your future. "Though baby's still in a comatose state", she's talking about how despite everything that you decide in life there are still things that can go wrong that you can't help (I.E. a baby being in a coma). "I'll die my own Easter eggs", she's saying despite what god says, I'm going to make my own decisions. "Don't go yet" is talking about the devil again, she's telling him don't go cause if you do I'll have to realize reality and pain. "And Beanie lost the sunset but that's ok", she's talking about her friend (beanie is one of her friend's nancy, I believe) losing hope in her. "Does Joe bring flowers to Marilyn's grave", in this part I think she's asking nancy, Joe didn't give up on Marilyn, so why are you giving up on me. "And girls that eat pizza and never gain weight", she's talking about how she's sick of the "perfect" or "normal" people in the world. Well that's my explanation of "Father Lucifer". If you don't like it, bite me. It's just my opinion, so please no hate mail or any mail telling me that I'm wrong. An opinion can never be wrong. Much Love, Jamie P.S. To Finney2567@aol.com, sorry I had to send this one to the list too, cause I thought that everyone would like to here it too. P.S.S.
