ToriCon is officially over, and I just wanted to let y'all know how it went. I am very pleased with how the auction went. There was a lot of interest (4000 hits in 24 hours!), and we were able to raise a lot of money for RAINN. The hottest items were the "I Believe in Peace Bitch" necklace from the 1994 tour, the UK Crucify box set, the US promo RAINN Retrospective, and the autographed UtP pink vinyl. The auction raised just under $1300 for RAINN this year. We'll be telling Tori about the final outcome of the auction at the Richmond, Virginia, show. If you're attending that show, look for several people wearing t-shirts that say "ToriCon 98" on the back. :) I really want to thank everyone for helping this all come together. I'm very pleased that we were able to give that much to RAINN. Warners (the distributors) did indeed pull it without a word of warning. However, some major stores are showing copies on their computers, and believe that they may be able to order it in. I've placed several orders, and will tell you by the end of the week if they've been successful. Apparently there are *80* copies within the whole of Lancashire/Greater Manchester. And they're in stores now, from what I can tell. Either that, or there were 80 pre-orders for RS within the whole of one chain's computer network... I can't figure which is more plausible. You weren't imagining these things, but your reference to it seems a bit outdated at this point, since Tori has clearly been almost entirely better since the shows of the weekend prior to this past one. I want to be clear that when I made reference to her having some problems in D.C. that she did seem, from this vantage point, like 97% back to full health. I have been a little surprised that she doesn't quite have everything back yet, and I imagine it's the cause of some consternation on her part as well. This seems understandable, and I certainly didn't mean to have anything *I* said transmogrified into my having said "Poor Tori." She was extremely ill. Now she's nearly well again. She's a remarkably resilient person. She'll be fine soon, and even before then I expect her to do some quality shows, as I saw her do last Tuesday.
