There's a full-page picture next to the article - its Tori in a lab wearing a trench coat, and she's tying up - or untying - herself in a chair in the same outfit. The caption at the bottom reads "Spy vs spy: Tori Amos ties herself in knots". Maybeeeeee the Dent has a pic, I can't say for sure. BtW, in the Spin Top 40 "Most Vital Artists" rating scheme, she's also rated #17 out of 40 - behind PJ Harvey (#14 luv her), Marilyn Manson (#10??????) and...Hole (#6!!!!!!). For those of you who love numbers, #1 was Beck (currently rooming with Tori in my cd player) and #40 was Ben Folds Five (from my nearby 'hood Chapel Hill and also roomies with Beck and Tori). IMHO, I don't think that scaggy ol' Courtney Love and Hole is that much more vital than Tori Amos, but some people's taste is all in their mouth and what do I know I don't write for Spin. So rest secure in the knowledge that Tori called herself Attila the Honey. You're getting a little confused because "Atilla the Honey" is a track on the first disc of Tori Stories {this single disc was later released as "Ultra Rarities", and then again as "Wedding Performance"}. The "Atilla the Honey" track is right after the wedding performance from 1978, and they're very very definitely separate and distinct. "Atilla the Honey" is a quasi-interview, with this funky voice-over asking Tori questions. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Jul 1998 16:57:35 -0600 From: "Diana" Subject: Re: "nishiki"? The pink vinyl should have a sticker on it somewhere saying "limited edition pink vinyl". The only way to -really- know for sure is to open it, though. To be honest, I really don't see any reason to not open it. Both versions of UtP are still pretty easy to come by. I regularly find the pink one at my local Tower for $8.99, and I saw several copies of the black one while I was in Boston today for around the same price. If they're still this available -now-, four years after they've been released, I wouldn't worry about opening it and destroying its value. She called me to do this vocal track. It wasn't that big a deal. Her first album was permanently in my car's CD changer. It really struck me as well written, in a similar vein to what I was doing - from a different point of view, but the same kind of addicting, pouring out, gushing, baring naked kind of song. Other people put their fingers in the pie, and they kind of messed up a friendship. We're not that close now. Some malicious meddling on the part of Courtney Love. But I still feel the same feelings for Tori. My question is what's the deal with Tori Amos and Courtney Love. I've seen several quotes where Tori expresses a dislike for Courtney and I'm just wondering what happened. I would post the quotes, but hey we don't know exact sources so we wouldn't want people to start getting upset again.......So I guess some EWF will miss out :-( I love Trent sooooooooooo much.
