I'm just making corrections here. I really think it's great ToriBoi took the time to do all of this, but I don't want people running off, buying the wrong singles ;-) One thing: I'm not sure if YKTR should be listed as a source, because there are different versions of this, and the songs mentioned, coming off this record, aren't part of the tracklisting off the *original* YKTR, only some of the many bootlegs, and if you mention one bootleg, you'll have to mention all (like "Little Rarities" etc) At 02:06 11/06/98 EDT, ToriBoi@aol.com wrote: >Angie -"winter" ep, bside that's *crucify* ep >Flying Dutchman -"more under the pink" and the UK, French and German "China" single (b-side) >Humpty Dumpty -"talula" import bside no, it's off the UK/German "China" single >Little Drummer Boy -"more under the pink" also available as a promo single and on the Kevin & Bean X-mas record. >Ode To The Banana King, Part 1 -"y kant tori read" >bonus track, also a bside of ? again, I wouldn't mention yktr. I think this was on another X-Mas record. >Smells Like Teen Spirit -"winter EP", cover of Nirvana again... it's the Crucify EP >Song For Eric -"chiina" import single, also bonus track on YKTR no, it's the b-side to the above mentioned UK ltd ed. Also, Black Swan, A Case of You and a bunch of others are availabe on "more pink" as well. sabrina ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Jun 1998 19:17:46 +0200 From: richard68@globalxs.nl Subject: Tori in The Hague on tape? Hi everybody, I went to Tori in The Hague this week. It was fab! Also it was my first live Tori show, which was great. Now, I wonder if anyone has captured her performance on tape. I would love to have that! Please contact me privately. I have things to trade and I can also make cd-r's. Back to the thread of the one-word album summaries and the elements (Little Earthquakes => Earth Under the Pink => Air Boys for Pele => Fire >From the Choirgirl Hotel => Water) I just noticed in reading through lyrics to the Spark B-sides that in Cooling, there's a line: "but fire thought she'd really rather be water instead". (at http://www.csua.berkeley.edu/~lolly/tori/beesides.html) Correct me if I'm wrong, but, um, wasn't Cooling the song that was almost on BfP (Fire) but wound up as a B-side on FtCGH (Water) instead? Hmmm... I'm voting less and less for coincidence on the elemental albums. =) and tori's done album references in songs before, too - remember "here I stand with this sword in my hand" in Take to the Sky, and the cover of YKTR? Just a thought. - --Abbe ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Jun 1998 16:35:15 -0500 From: forsythia_in_the_spam@juno.com (Dust A Bunny) Subject: The PEOPLE love Tori Hello my Pretty Little Horses, In the new issue of PEOPLE, they have Tori and her hubby in the "Who married this year" section. Same old pictures we've all seen, but they are quite big. Wooo! Fiona Apple and her current interest are also in there. Nice big picture of her face and her strange glasses. Wow, Minnie Driver is going out with the drummer from Foo Fighters (Taylor Hawkins). I would have never guessed. Anyhoo, back to meddling. Take care. Bi bi. I thought I should probably post this to the list, to see what other people thought and who agreed with me. Based on what Tori says after the song, and the lyrics, I just assumed that Mr. Jim was a neighbor Tori had when she was growing up. That he died recently (recently in the context of the song) and it brought back memories for her. It's sort of bittersweet for me, like it's sad that he died but she's celebrating his life. "Sing them all your happy song" I think refers to Mr. Jim making other dead people happy the way he made living people happy when he was alive. "Built that ladder well" seems to be that maybe he helped some boys build a treehouse in their neighborhood... I'm not sure. I love the part about her punching his daughter "because she was mean" and he comforted Tori instead of his daughter. And at the end "I don't care/cause I'm with you... still" that's just so sweet and sad. I can picture young Tori, on a Saturday night, over at Mr. Jim's house having a barbecue while all of the popular girls are going on dates and going to parties and what-not. The song, as a whole, is just delicious for me. Whether it's fictional or not isn't really important, I think. It's just lovely. Ok there's *my* opinion. What do you all think? Love, Sara, who just got her Blue's Clues toys from Subway and is totally pumped up about Blue's Big Birthday Bash. Go Blue's Clues!!! WOO-HOO! Does anyone have it scanned on their website, or have the file to e-mail me? By the way, I do think BFP is a great album; I hope I didn't give the impression that I don't like it! One more thing: okay, I know this is a dumb question considering how many times this has been repeated, but what are the track listings for the two UK Spark singles? I did try to find it on the net before asking, but all the music sites only list the prices. I sent in photos of some venues to Mikewhy, and he has already put most of them up. (The 930 Club and Electric Factory photos are yet to come.) I want to encourage folks who are able to take photos of the various venues around the world to send them in to Mikewhy for inclusion on The Dent, with the set lists and reviews of the shows. If you have a photo and no scanner, contact either him or me to arrange to send one of us the photo(s) for one of us to scan. I think it would be really great to have photos of most all of the venues, and if you can take them on the day of the concert--or even as people are entering the venue for the show--then so much the better. Thanks in advance to all who contribute. I deeply appreciate it. I'll go try to find a life, now. ;-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Jun 1998 01:12:06 EDT From: BFett26@aol.com Subject: Re: Please contribute venue photos...
