My boyfriend traded with some people off the toriboot list and I'm afraid he's been taken for a sucker. I'm no pessimist and I know there are some great people on the net, but there are also those who only think of themselves. Somehow after his luck, I'm not surprised that there are those out to make some money. I think that if you are a true Tori fan, you trade because you know how much the music will mean to someone else. And as for this age thing, hasn't anyone ever taught you not to categorize people. No teenager is the same in this world, and they have every right to enjoy Tori as much as you do. In fact, at my last Tori show, I felt old surrounded by all these young people. I actually met a lot of wonderful people, and true fans. I think it's terrible that you can prejudge people on any categorical basis. Those young people just have great taste in music as far as I'm concerned. Last but not least, I must say that Cooling is my favourite B-side, it's just beautiful. Hands up for BfP, give it a million listens and you'll love it as much as any of the others, I personally adore Putting the Damage On and will never tire of singing it in the shower. If I was potato chips, I could go a lot more places, but I'm not." The daughter of a Methodist minister, Amos was a precocious talent who at age five became the youngest-ever student at Baltimore's prestigious Peabody Conservatory. She also was a precocious rebel. At 11, Peabody threw her out for musical insubordination. As a young woman in Los Angeles trying to make it in music or as an actress, she did some commercials before forming the doomed band Y Kant Tori Read, whose first album tanked after a review in Billboard called her a bimbo. Thanks :-) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Jun 1998 23:21:43 -0400 (EDT) From: Richard Handal Subject: Tori content in Dolls magazine Hi, All: I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet, although I know Michael Whitehead has a copy of this and will have something of it up on The Dent eventually. On pages 82 - 87 of the June/July 1998 issue of Dolls magazine (ISSN 0733-2238) there's a wonderful article about Pat Kochie and her husband Tom. Pat is known for her amazing, unique, sculpted dolls which look, in varying degrees, like Tori Amos. The dolls all have their own distinct personalities, and there are a ton of color photos in this article, one of which has Pat and Tori in it together. My friend Ruth Eichmiller is featured in one of the photos with her three dolls, and in a sidebar story. She's on the Precious Things list, but I guess she's too shy to mention this herself, and I didn't have a chance before now. Dolls is a U.S. magazine and I'm not sure how difficult it might be to find a copy outside North America, but I highly suggest that it's worth tracking down a copy to gain insight on these special, Tori-inspired works of art. It's moving to read about them. Please forgive me if this *has* been mentioned before and I missed it. I'm woefully behind in reading list mail. Personally, I feel a bit neglected with the maxi single.. only 3 tracks for $7! And the fact that your really only getting 1 more song on the cd compaired to the regular single issue. However... if the UK limited edition single for "Spark" really is limited, then it's kind of cool that the songs on that single don't ever come out on any other release.
