My husband says that they filmed the whole Boston show as well. A good friend says the same about Toronto, and I've heard reports that the rest were filmed. Someone over in rmta suggested that it was just for promotional purposes, but I think that the expense of filming all 12 dates in their entirety would be prohibitively expensive just for a promotional album. My guess is bits from each night -- which would also explain why Tori was dressed nearly identically for each of the shows. My guess is that we will see a release of that sometime this summer, as her full US tour is kicking off. I have to say that I wonder if this means that the US will not see a release of the RAINN video, or if they'll be released at the same time, or what. I find it -very- odd that it's been released everywhere but the bloody country in which it was filmed! I'm not as sure about a live album, though. Tori has been fully taping all of her shows since at least 1994. There's definitely enough material out there for her to do a live album, but it just hasn't happened yet. It would make sense to release one about the time that a live video were released, but I have absolutely no faith in the folks at Atlantic. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 May 1998 13:34:46 -0700 From: Yasmin Lori Ravard Subject: Lovin' Cooling I was wondering if anyone out there was as addicted to Cooling as I am. I've been reading all these comments about the blue dress and I spent much time this weekend listening to this song because it really speak TO me. So anyway, in order to share what I thought about the blue dress, I thought that I'd share my personal meaning of this song. I'm not saying that this is what Tori meant by the song. I find my personal meaning for songs and that's good enough for me, but the following is just what I think when I listen to it. I couldn't express it really well, because I feel more than I can articulate. You know what I mean? Anyway, enjoy or not. :) She was a January girl She never let on how insane it was in that tiny kinda scary house by the woods, by the woods, by the woods, by the woods by the woods, by the woods, by the woods, by the woods **I think this is about a girl who was abused, by family, or a boyfriend, husband, girlfriend, or whoever, and never let on to others what was going on. black-dove black-dove you're not a helicopter **Black dove: as in something pure, but has been tainted by experience. Or maybe young, but not innocent. Maybe she left to find a better world, but she still hasn't succeded in leaving the past behind, because she never dealt with it. She's not a helicopter in the sense that even though she physically left, the experience isn't gone. She's not a helicopter; she feels things. you're not a cop-out either, honey black-dove, black-dove **You're not a cop-out. It's not bad that she just left, instead of staying and dealing. She can deal with it better away from it and shouldn't feel bad for taking off. Shouldn't feel like she wimped out, because it takes a lot of courage to leave. you don't need a space ship they don't know you've already lived on the other side of the galaxy the other side of the galaxy the other side of the galaxy **People may think she's weird (space cadet or whatever). I find the lines how a lion becomes a mouse very touching. Before being in an abusive relationship, I know that I was very outspoken and could stand up for myself. After being in an abusive relationship it is much harder to do so. You do become a mouse. At least until you really deal with what went on. but i have to get to TEXAS said i have to get to TEXAS and I'll give away my blue, blue dress my blue dress ** I know in my personal situation I moved to Montana to get away from it all. Suits and Skirts are what I call the business folk in the entertainment world. It's more than a guess, but no real clues. Oh, am I being obtuse or what??? AtRec is finally coming to the realization that the internet is where it is at; in other words, Tori's fan base can be found here and they can read our thoughts and know what we want. They know that if *they* (as in Tori's Record Company) can supply our desire for live music and videos, that we would prefer to buy them from *them* instead of nasty bootleggers. The fact that Tori hand-picked what songs would be featured on tori.com and that they were only available for 48 hours (approx) and then pulled forever, makes me believe we will see an album of these songs. The fact that the Park West show was filmed (note *filmed, not just sent live) for the net cybercast show, using 4 cameras tells me we have a valid show vid that will be available when Tori is off the road. I've had people bustin' on me cause I'm *guessing* and "AtRecs hasn't done this before", BUT---I said I wouldn't worry about not hearing Merman cause I would just pick up the single when it was released as a b-side. I was told I was making a mistake, it was for the net alone. But jeez, what single did Tori say? Uh, "Jackie's Strength", right? So I think I'm a pretty good judge of the suits at this point. Sorry I cc'd to PT, but I needed to let several people know what I was talking about. Actually, I believe *if* these live songs ever see the light of day, they'll end up as bee sides on upcoming singles... the same way EP's/singles such as "Hey Jupiter" or "Past the Mission" contained live tracks. Until now Atlantic hasn't released more than one song to a show, although I don't doubt they have entire shows somewhere, but random songs from various shows are perfect for singles. So, like Professional Widow ended up having a "merry widow" version, Horses might end up as a "dark horses" version or something. So yes, the suits know us, and they know that if they put several live songs on several singles, they'll get more $$$, than if they put everything on one CD. Just think of how much you pay for a single in relation to a normal CD. Don't get me wrong... I'd love to see a live CD, but I just don't see it happening. And for those who were asking about future singles... as you might know, Jackie's Strength and Rasberry Swirl will be the next two, but as Playboy Mommy was on the 4-Track Promo as well, it's likely this will be the 4th (and not necessarily last) single. sabrina ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 May 1998 18:58:52 -0400 From: honeybee81@juno.com (Sharon D Moeller) Subject: FtCGH map I might be a little behind, but what does that map in the FtCGH jacket MEAN???????? :-) Sorry if you guyz have already discussed this. To all planning on camping out... When I got tickets for Philly I arrived 3 hours early (a small, suburban outlet) and no one was there. I was told to come back an hour before the sale time (4PM) and get a "line ticket". At 3:55 they held a lottery with the 30 people there and the first three numbers were guarenteed floor seats. My friend had the third number called and I think we have bleachers 16th row leftcenter, probably because we bought the limit block of 8 per person. So for arena/large shows at any rate, expect a lottery and a ticket limit. I have heard that people called and got just as good seats as I did, so it's a crap shoot anyway you look at it. imho of course. I know we're dying and there's no sign of a parchute. A little crazy, so naked. I've said it before, I'll say it again, even when I had just the upteenth gen promo tape, this was my favorite. She calls to me and takes me down into her depths. I try not to find much meaning in this, I believe that the words are more part of the instrumental than something significant. Sweet Saliva probably sounded pretty and that's why it's there. The musical depths enrapture me, hypnotize me, entrance me. Tori can make a scream sound so beautiful. I was wondering around the shops today, and I saw a copy of From The Choirgirl Hotel, and it came with a t-shirt. I couldn't see what the t-shirt exactly had on it, but I saw the word "Spark". Is this a general t-shirt, or something I should GRAB? If anyone would be interested in one, please e-mail me. Please help. Thanks. Subject: Cooling .mp3 The .mp3 of Cooling from Danica's page is great, but I was wondering if anyone else that down loaded it noticed someone screaming something in the middle of the song. Well, I'm sure you noticed it, and I'm asking two things: 1) Does it make you angry that people do this while there is a little redhead up there onstage trying to express? 2) What the hell is the person saying? This makes me very angry, and kind of sad. I have never seen Tori live, but I have seen several live videos of her (like the Little Earthquakes video, the RealVideo's off a Frog Named Jethro and some QuickTime's) and especially during the Little Earthquakes video, the fans seem to simply be in awe of Tori which is how it should be. But now and during the Dew Drop Inn tour too, the fans are getting really rowdy. That makes me really sad. Anyone agree? Bids will be accepted through midnight, Eastern time, Saturday May 30 at elusis @ rmta . org. The current bid is $300 for the pair, so only bids above that amount can be accepted at this point. I appreciate the interest of those who have emailed me and sent in bids. Once again, *all* profit from the sale of this ticket beyond the face value will be donated to RAINN, so your bid benefits a worthy cause, not some lowlife scalpers.
