She does some of the FTCGH photography, and I am sure the Spark cover is one of her shots. Well...on IGG...can you really expect them to be reliable? As quite a few of us know, IGG has screwed up a *lot* of things in the past and has been favorable of other artists fans over us. If i remember correctly, a while back, IGG was giving members of Sarah McLachlan's list discounts on what they bought, but wouldn't give it to us. I choose not to deal with IGG and get my Tori from other companies. There are many, many much more reliable sources, like CDNOW and [www.cdnow.com] Music Boulevard [www.musicblvd.com]. Taking up a single column on the top half of the right side of the page, under a headline "BAD verse," it says, "Lame lyrics from singers who should know better." (Looks as if it might be a regular feature! Oh, joy!) They quote several lines from Cruel, and say it's on the upcoming album "From the Choirgirl Hotel due May 5." There's also a B&W soundcheck photo--looks to me to be from 1996--probably New York but I'm not gonna try to figure that out because even I'm not *that* obsessed. It's 1.5 inches x 3 inches. I'll scan it in later for The Dent. And BTW, is there, like, a *reason* that nastiness, bad vibes, and making fun of people in general now all count as high entertainment? I, for one, am sick to death of it. And anyone Official out there who can possibly find out what's up with the apparent change in date for the U.S. premiere on MTV of the Spark video, I know we'd all appreciate hearing it. Well, those of us in the States with cable or satellite TV would, anyhow. :-) Thanks. Aye-aye, cap'n! If anyone's going to the Ft Lauderdale or Atlanta shows and would like to meet up, drop me a line. My husband and I are leaving Atlanta today to drive to Ft Lauderdale {12 hours of driving!} and see the show there, and coming back Sunday to make sure that we get to the Atlanta show in time. I can't do DAT trades yet, though, since I haven't purchased the second deck yet. :/ But I'll definitely be converting my DAT to analogue cassette when I get back. Also: if anyone has an extra ticket to the Boston show, please please drop me a line. I'll spare y'all the story of how my best friend's roommate's drunken boyfriend fucked up getting the tickets {unless you really care}. Hi, All: There seems to be some confusion as to the time here in the U.S. of the MTV premiere next Wednesday of the Spark video. The time has been given as 6pm. From 6 - 7pm, MTV telecasts their program titled MTV Live. Clearly, they aim to premiere the Spark video at some point during the hourlong program MTV Live. I haven't watched MTV Live enough to know when during the program such things tend to occur, but I'll be waiting to enter the 930 Club here in D.C. to see Tori live in the flesh, so I'm definitely going to be taping the entire program with the timer on the VCR. As for the question of to which time zone does the announced 6pm refer: Many of you in the U.S. in time zones other than the Eastern one are well familiar with the top broadcast networks announcing the time of a program which applies both in the Eastern and Western times zones. As far as I know, MTV follows the same arrangement. A program will be at the stated time in the east, an hour earlier in the Central time zone, two hours earlier Mountain time, and then they do a three-hour-delayed second feed of the programs for the west coast, which puts it in the homes of the Western time zone people at the same announced time as in the east. Anyone who wants to make certain how MTV really does this has, at this point, today, Monday, and Tuesday to verify at what time MTV telecasts MTV Live in their area. And one more thing to you folks going to the Florida show Saturday--let us know what kinds of merchandise are available--tour programs, shirts, monogrammed choirgirl hotel bath towels , whatever--and the prices, so we can plan accordingly for the later shows. Thanks. ON SALE SATURDAY 4/19: 5/5 San Francisco, CA The concert is at The Fillmore (http://www.thefillmore.com). They will not be using a lottery system; its first-come, first-served. They are, however, using the voucher system so bring ID. There's a two-ticket limit per person. Price is $27.50 each. I don't know if they're accepting cash only (some box offices in other cities were cash-only) so be prepared. And if you go early to line up then remember to dress warmly. And I'll be there too so don't get in front of me in line! :) FUTURE TOUR: The US club tour opens this weekend in Florida! During the on-line chat this past Monday, Tori stated, "The club tour is only a sneak preview. We'll be back to do a proper tour. The shows that I want to put on are really not geared for clubs. But I put that aside in order to have the intimacy. And get comfortable on our feet as players..." Sorry, Tori didn't mention any plans for Australia but she IS at the start of a two-year world tour so there's hope... CONCERT BROADCAST: The Chicago concert on April 30 will be recorded for a national broadcast on The Album Network. I'm not sure when the concert will be actually aired. This show will also be broadcast live on the Net. TORI ON JAY LENO: Tori's appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (NBC) has been changed from May 12 to Monday, May 11. OFFICIAL TORI WEB SITE UPDATED: Some cool new stuff has been added to the Tori Amos web site created by Atlantic Records. http://www.tori.com MERMAN: When you pre-order the upcoming album, "From The Choirgirl Hotel" from Tower Records ($13.99) they will give you a code to access a new Tori track titled "Merman". For now the song is exclusive to the Internet and you have to use a Windows PC to be able to hear the new track. Its a *beautiful* piano-and-voice song and I hope that some day it'll be released on CD. For now you can pre-order the album either at a Tower outlet, on-line (http://www.towerrecords.com), or I hear you can maybe visit a web site (http://members.aol.com/spireishot/merman.html) for an MP3. :) MAGAZINES: Billboard - US, April 4 1998, article.
