If there is a CD that I want I generally check there first, they have become my friends... No, It's not as though I am blaming Tower for this but due to the whole Merman thing I will probably buy my Choirgirl disc from Tower... Yeah, it's lame because I'm dropping my favorite little store for the big chain just for the crappy promotional stuff but oh well... I'll still wake up and look myself in the eyes when I brush my teeth and I will continue to buy my stuff from there and all will be merry... Richard, that's fine for people who, like, you, live near a Tower Records or whatever but please consider that a great many people (like me) do NOT! The only ones in England are in London, I believe, and that's 250 miles away from me and I can't see me forking out £50 just to get down there, and that's only if they're bothering to do it outside the USA. What about the rest of Europe, and everywhere else in the world? Don't we matter? Don't we count? Why can't this fantastic offer be made available to us to? It's not fair. Remember the yelling when the "Live in NY" video was released in Europe but not in the US? It's the same thing in reverse. It's equally unfair.. plus they're wrapping the track up in yet another propriatory audio format that will prevent piracy, just to keep the executives happy to the detriment of the sound quality no doubt..! And what really stinks is this 'send video messages to Tori' promotion. Yeah, of course everyone's got shit hot computers and video cameras attached to them, and the power to send out MPEG files, which can be bloody huge. Why not just allow us to send normal emails to Tori? Bloody Atlantic. I just have to rave about Newbury comics for a little bit. I ordered the Live in Ny video from them and not only did they send it within 2 days, but they also sent along a free sampler CD of music , a cool sticker, and a postcard. I highly recommend Newbury Comics to anyone!!! Sarah:) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Apr 1998 18:47:24 EST From: Auburn2244 Subject: Planet Tori? Sarah :) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Apr 1998 14:26:30 -0500 (EST) From: Fireheart Subject: New Tori Amos WebRing! To all the web page authors out there-- I just started my own Tori Amos WebRing called "Ode to the Beauty Queen". I know, the world really doesn't need another Tori Amos WebRing, I just kinda felt like creating one. It is a modest attempt too, but I had fun with the graphics. I only have one set of graphics for the ring now, but I have an interesting offer for those who are adept (and not so adept, like me) at creating their own web page graphics. I am offering a one-tape trade (from anything on my list) to anyone who makes graphics for the ring. The only "catch" is that I have to want to use them. This won't be too difficult, since I'm in awe of anyone who can create their own graphics. The only requirement is that you join the ring. The only requirement to join the ring itself is that you love Tori and that you have some part of your web page dedicated to her/her music. I hope people will join the ring (: You can join by following this URL: http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/9523/myrings.html The URL for my trade list is: http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/9523/tori.html I'm looking forward to seeing some graphics (: /> / < O[\\\\\\\\\(O):::<=============================================- \ < \> Carrie-Ellen Batcheller HPs \||/ UNH Babcock Hall Box 2110 | @___oo Durham NH 03824 /\ /\ / (__,,,,| ) /^\) ^\/ _) web pages: ) /^\/ _) http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/9523 ) _ / / _) Lifestories: /9523/lifestories.html /\ )/\/ || | )_) Tori Amos trade list: /9523/tori.html < > |(,,) )__) || / \)___)\ | \____( )___) )___ \______(_______;;; __;;; ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Apr 1998 21:50:55 -0500 From: jls7@monadnock.keene.edu (Jenn) Subject: Re: LOG CONTEST WINNER! But the atlantic site dates and times are correct. They were "posted in error", not wrong. My opinion is---Atlantic purposely posted for a short amount of time in order to let us--the internet fan base--know about the tickets before hand. Do you know when the *public* will be informed? An hour or two before they go on sale, after you are in line. This is Tori's gift to us. I just hope everyone is smart enough to not announce it on the radio or anything, cause that would mess it up. So everyone, get your cash ready, go to the box office at a reasonable time (not before 7AM) and keep your mouth shut until after you have gotten your tickets. The general answer was "um......um.....um....hi....um, uh....Tori... heheheheh....um..." The best was from Jenn...I would ask her for Piano Lessons! >> 2) What Soundtrack is Tori's best? While Higher learning was the (almost unanimous) winner here, I hafta say I still love the Toys Soundtrack. Happy Workers is still one of my favorites! I read somewhere that Tori was unhappy how it came out. Anyone know why? I love it! >> 3) Of the upcoming summer movies (Godzilla, X-files, >whatever), >>which one should Tori have done? Someone (don't remember who) said it best with "They're jealous." It's simple! I spend too much time with Tori! >> 5) Why must I be stuck here on May 5, instead of seeing Tori >in >>Frisco?
