What will most probably happen is AtRec will send emails asking the webmasters to take down the clip. if they do so, great, AtRec will leak another single sometime before the album comes out. If someone wants to be an asshole, AtRec will say, "Big Mistake" and never do it again. Only my opinion with a ton of intuition. My bro is in the music biz. I know a little, and I know a *lot* about sales. Tori is being sold to the masses in quiet waves this time. Feel honored to be in the first wave. When she goes on tour in the states late summer or so, she'll explode onto the scene. That's only if it's played right by us EwF. So don't worry about defending anyone. I kinda think it's cool to have been one of the first couple of hundred to hear Spark. This tour is going to be so *Plugged* in so many different areas. All of this is only my opinion, I know nothing more than any of you. But I know a prime sales job when I see one. I wish people would calm down a bit. Yes, I know that we are used to knowing when and where long before now, but this is a building up to a cresendo. We are in the beginning of the song and it will build (club tour), and build, (euro tour), and build to a cymbels crashing, drums pounding cresendo (aussie and/or us tour). Haven't you all learned by now, Tori Amos is a big tease??? ;) Fairy Blessings, Beth ************************************************************* *We are all in the gutter, *But some of us are looking at the stars" *-Oscar Wilde- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ *I gave my life to become the person I am. *Was it worth it? -Richard Bach- ************************************************************* *"Don't Dream It~ *Be It"- RHPS ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Mar 1998 23:49:12 EST From: Pro Widow Subject: ANOTHER tori award. Well kiddies. I know that people have site awards that they give out, and they complain about other people giving them out, but i ignore them. If you have a webpage and you want it to be acknowleged, the go to my page: http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Rue/5738/enter.htm and fill out the form that is there. I think the graphic is pretty. IMHO. Tori says (when Boys was released) the record company didn't do squat for her because she hadn't written an album *they* particularly enjoyed. We, us Ears with Feet, made them sit up and take notice. I expect hearing Tori on the radio won't be unusual. The record company obviously likes it this time around, well, if not the music itself, the suits Love *Us*! And that's all I'm gonna say bout that. Whose poor judgement was this? > >Someone please bring in the REAL businesspeople. You know...the ones who >know what they're doing. I suggest that *we* find the real business people. Atlantic Records holds the reins on RAINN (no pun intended). Until RAINN can stand on her own two feet, fund herself, she will always be under AtRecs thumb. I've had a discussion with several people about how to get RAINN on her own. And I have several ideas. I think that we, as Toriphiles, should get to work to help RAINN in a grassroots movement. On the Dent, there is a book of poetry offered for benifit of RAINN. William Fuentes and Bob Masse are selling prints to help. I think each of us can do something, if not donate something creative, then purchasing something creative. If RAINN had $2 million dollars, and that is really not a lot of money in the *corporate real world*, she could stand on her own by making investments and expanding. As a non-profit organization, once she is standing without corporate support, then RAINN would be eligible for many federal and state grants. I used to sit around and say, why doesnt' someone do something about this? whatever it was. But then a wise man asked me if I was not somebody. Since I could not disagree that I am a living, breathing, intelligent creature, then indeed I must be the somebody I was looking for. I just need some help. OK, this is food for though and personal replies are welcome.
