At first, when I heard the voice, I was telling myself "No, this couldn'tbe Tori...I don't recognize the song." But then, it was the line that says "She's addicted to nicotine patches," and I knew it. It was very exciting. The song sounds much like her old stuff, and the only part I could really hear a band playing was towards the end. But it is a great song. I love it. Well, those are my details...meager as they are. I was having dinner with my friend last night, at some coffee shop, and you know how sometimes, restaurants and such have this elevator-music type thing going on in the background? Well, as my friend was rambling and I was poking in my food, I got a drift of that music in my head, and it seemed oddly familiar. I couldn't place it at first, but after a while it struck me... it was "Crucify"! It was just weird, hearing that song without Tori's voice and played in that particular style (you know... that elevator-ish style)... I think there were one or two saxophones replacing Tori's voice. Strange, but cool that it was a Tori song. So I was just wondering if any of you guys had heard a different version of a Tori song somewhere? It wouldn't surprise me... stuff like that pops up when you least expect it :) sabrina P.S. Thanx again to Kip for the Spark wav!!! This is all the known tour info to date. BTW, if anyone in Europe know fo any more on sale dates or if any of the shows are sold out, please let me know. I'd -greatly- appreciate it. :) /nad - -*- Last updated: 14 March 1998 * Added on sale information for tickets in Germany and Holland. * Added Detriot, Toronto, Washington, and Seattle club tour rumors. * Added website for buying tickets to Roskilde festival. * Added festival question. * Added possible tour name. * Added Scotland cancellation question. - -*- Table of Contents: 1) Is Tori going to be touring soon? 2) I heard something about a club tour. What's that? 2a) I'm under 21. Will I be able to get into these shows? 3) Is the club tour the only tour that the US will see? 4) I heard that Tori is going to be touring with a band. Is this true? 5) I'm in Australia, and Tori didn't come down here on her last tour! Will she come around this time? 6) Is Tori doing any festivals this year? 6a) What about Lilith Fair? 7) When will she be coming to ? When do tickets go on sale? 7a) Can I buy these tickets online? 7b) I heard that the 22 May 1998 show had been cancelled. Is this true? - -*- 1) Is Tori going to be touring soon? Yes! She'll be touring in support of her newest album, "From the Choirgirl Hotel", due in stores 05 May 1998. The tour is rumored to be named "Plugged '98". - -*- 2) I heard something about a club tour. What's that? Starting 18 April 1998, Tori will be doing a small tour of clubs around the US. The tentative list of cities is as follows: Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, Atlanta, and West Palm Beach. There is no further information available about the club tour at this time. 2a) I'm under 21. Will I be able to get into these clubs? We don't know yet. There has been no indication given that the shows will be 21 and over. Until we get more word from her management and/or the fan club, there's no way of knowing. Once anyone finds out more information, it'll be passed along. - -*- 3) Is the club tour the only tour that the US will see? Probably not. After the club tour, Tori is doing what is shaping up to be an extensive European tour. We assume that Tori will come back to the US and do a full tour -- the club tour is just too limited, and I doubt she'd do that to her US fans. - -*- 4) I heard that Tori is going to be touring with a band. Is this true? Take to the Sky, one of the official fan clubs, reports that Tori will indeed be touring with a full band. Steve Caton (who played guitar with her on the Dew Drop Inn tour) will be there, along with bassist Jon Evans and drummer Matt Chamberlain. Whether or not this band will play with her on every song or just on certain ones (like Caton did on the DDI tour) is something that we'll have to wait to see. - -*- 5) I'm in Australia, and Tori didn't come down here on her last tour! Will she come around this time? We don't know yet. :( I know that's not a very good answer, but until the powers that be give us more information that's the best we can do. - -*- 6) Is Tori doing any festivals this year? Tori is doing several festivals in Europe this year. The festivals that she will appear at are: Roskilde Festival, Denmark (25 June); Pinkpop Festival, Holland (01 June); Inola Festival, Italy (21 June); Glastonbury Festival, UK (27 June); Torhout and Werchter, Belgium (4 and 5 July) 6a) What about Lilith Fair? Sarah McLachlan has repeatedly expressed an interest in Tori playing on Lilith Fair, but Tori hasn't yet. We understand that an invitation has again been extended to Tori, but there is no word on whether or not Tori has accepted or declined. - -*- 7) When will she be coming to ? When do tickets go on sale? Below is all the information we have on the tour. If it's not here, we don't know. :( Telephone numbers, where I have them, are in parentheses after the venue name. On sale information is given where I have it. 7a) Can I buy these tickets online? The website http://www.aloud.com has tickets for the following dates: May 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30. However, reports indicate that the tickets they have are worse than what is available at the venue. The website http://www.jubii.dk has tickets for the Roskilde Festival (25 June 1998) available. 7b) I heard that the 22 May 1998 show had been cancelled. Is this true? Thankfully, this is -not- true. The Sunday Mail said that the 22 May 1998 show was cancelled, and replaced with shows on 6, 7, 8, and 9 June. However, some of those dates already had shows. The Sunday Mail acknowledged that they made a mistake, and have printed a retraction. - -*- Tour Dates -*- Unconfirmed dates: 22 April 1998: 9:30 Club, Washington, DC. 26 April 1998: Detroit, Michigan 28 April 1998: Toronto, Ontario 03 May 1998: Seattle, Washington May 1998 05/19 UK, Newport Centre (0163 3662666) On sale now 05/20 UK, Liverpool Royal Court (0151 7094321) On sale now 05/21 UK, Manchester Apollo (0161 2422560) On sale now 05/22 UK, Glasgow Clyde Auditorium On sale now 05/23 OFF 05/24 UK, Newcastle City Hall On sale now 05/25 UK, Wolverhampton Civic Hall On sale now 05/26 UK, Plymouth Pavillions (01752 229922) On sale now 05/27 OFF 05/28 UK, Portsmouth Guildhall On sale now 05/29 UK, Nottingham Royal Centre (0115 9895555) On sale now 05/30 UK, Sheffield City Hall (0114 2726444) On sale now 05/31 OFF June 1998 06/01 HOLLAND, Pinkpop Festival 06/02 UK, London Royal Albert Hall (0171 5898212) On sale now 06/03 UK, London Royal Albert Hall (0171 5898212) On sale now 06/04 OFF 06/05 FRANCE, Paris Grand Rex On sale now 06/06 FRANCE, Paris (option) 06/07 OFF 06/08 GERMANY, Berlin Tempodrom On sale now 06/09 GERMANY, Frankfurt Alte Opera (49 691340400) On sale now 06/10 HOLLAND, Denhaag Congresgebouw (900-3001250) SOLD OUT 06/11 GERMANY, Hamburg Stadtpark On sale now 06/12 OFF 06/13 GERMANY, Bonn Museumsafer On sale now 06/14 GERMANY, Stuttgart Killesberg (49 711221235) On sale now 06/15 AUSTRIA, Vienna Libro Music Hall (01-88088) 06/16 OFF 06/17 GERMANY, Nurnberg Serenadenhof On sale now 06/18 GERMANY, Munich Philharmonic On sale now 06/19 OFF 06/20 SWITZERLAND, Zurich Kongresshaus 06/21 ITALY, Imola Festival 06/22 OFF 06/23 TBA 06/24 TBA 06/25 DENMARK, Roskilde Festival On sale now 06/26 OFF 06/27 UK, Glastonbury Festival 06/28 OFF 06/29 TBA 06/30 OFF July 1998 07/01 TBA 07/02 OFF 07/03 TBA 07/04 BELGIUM, Torhout & Werchter 07/05 BELGIUM, Torhout & Werchter - -*- *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. Wait a minute, I thought that the story with "Lovesong" was that she was on Los Angeles's KROQ and they played it and she had never heard it before and she loved it so they gave her the sheet music and she played it right there on the spot. I guess I read that on some website or something. >Actually, I'm not suprised. See back last year the new (it was new back >then) single by NIN "the perfect drug" was played before "single" >airtime. After having it air on that station for about a week (people >got ahold of it and it started circulating on the net as an mp3), NIN >Management conctacted them and told them not to play it or there was >going to be a law suit. Yup, I remember, KROQ got the perfect drug like 3-4 months in advance or something and the record company threatened to sue or something so they had to stop playing it until near the "official release date." KROQ always gets the songs early. Right now, they're playing the new Alanis Morrissette song which isn't supposed to be released for another 2-3 weeks. All this stuff with WHFS probably means that either KROQ is already playing "Spark" or they will be very soon. I'll be looking for it. Who is she, Tori Amos?" Believe me, I got a kick out of it because it didn't seem like a really mean spirited comment as much as just a goofy nod to her BFP pig pic.
