The catch is (due to the nature of MP3's being compressed sound files) that the CD cannot be played in a regular CD player, only a CD ROM. It kinda sucks, but I think it's well worth it. Well some of you know and some of you don't know that I run a Tori mp3 site of rare/live songs. I don't usually just go around plugging my site and I feel that if someone sees the url on my sig and wants to visit then they will. Since its spring break i've had a chance to do 2 things so far: put a Tori picture archive of over 800 songs up and also get some more mp3's made. As of about 20 minutes ago there are 12 new mp3's up on the site, and any and all of you are more than welcome to go get themm, since I've made them FOR you, the Toriphiles out there....this is whats new as of today (i'm going to make as much as i can while classes are out!) http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/5612/torimp3.html Butterfly Portland, OR 7/21/96 Spacedog/Let It Be Miami, FL 10/23/96 Kiling Me Softly Miami, FL 10/22/96 Sister Janet (harmonium) Austin, TX 10/29/96 Surry w/ the Fringe On Top Oklahoma City, OK 10/30/96 For Mark Modern Rock Live 1/4/96 Yes, Anastasia East Lansing, MI 10/16/94 Precious Things Seattle, WA 3/20/96 There is a Balm in Gilead Oakland, CA 7/12/96 Hey Jupiter (harmonium) Berlin, Germany 3/25/96 Talula Frankfurt, Germany 3/24/96 So anyhow, there ya go! The original vinyl of Baltimore is rare, bootlegs of it are not. The song Baltimore can be found on at least three CD boots: Tori Stories {4 CDs}, Ultra Rarities {1 CD}, and Wedding Performance {1CD}. A single new bootleg CD should go for $20-$30, used it should be worth less. If the auction goes above $25, I personally wouldn't get it. One of the great things was each time the station changed their format, (surprisingly quite often!) he got to bring the records (yeah, LPs & 45s) home, the ones that were out of the format. That gave me a lot of collectibles. I also remember occasionally he was invited to *pre-press* parties to hear a new release from an artist that he had supported on air. When I was 12, The Irish Rovers *a big group in the late 60's with the hit "The Unicorn"* were releasing a new album and he was one of maybe 20 people invited. He took me with him and I remember the guy (management I suppose) making a huge deal about releasing this *album* to just this room a month before the single was released. Now I know this is no where near like what Tori has as far as press meets or even as far as how *huge* she is, but my thoughts are maybe there are some people that have supported Tori forever and she does these *pre-press* parties. As far as DJs playing cuts off of albums, then I believe they have to be personal, cause the record companies as a rule send out *singles*, not albums. This was not as true when my step-dad was in the biz, but it is now. I have several friends both in calif and on the east coast who work at radio stations and that is a common bitch. Just my $.02 and personal opinion.
