[Shirlgirl ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 25 Feb 1998 02:33:56 EST From: Adia509@aol.com Subject: "Somewhere" on Babylon 5 with thier OK Computer Even though this has nothing to do with Tori I just feel like I have to mention this- 1. Has anybody heard that new single "Somewhere" from the Pet Shop Boys? It's a magnificant cover of that song from the musical West Side Story. (Trust me, its a great single, just remember when you're getting the import single, get the one with the radio version first.) Speaking of musicals, has Tori ever covered that one? 2. If you think about it, "Somewhere" would have made a good theme song to Babylon 5. (Not that I want to mock the show, it is my current favorite show on television.) 3. Is Radiohead's album OK Computer as wonderful as the critics say it is? 4. I had this dream last night that the U.S. Goverment nuked the coral reefs in order to save them and I saved two ducks (before the reefs got nuked). Can somebody interpret this? 5. I just saw a clip of that Reagan biography on PBS and when I looked at Reagan's face while he was waving to the crowd I just realized that during his presidency he probably had no idea what he was doing. I just can't help but speculate that he was just doing what he was being told to do and had no idea what anything meant. (I also heard that lately he can't even recognize his own wife.) Well, thats it. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 1998 14:12:23 +0100 From: Dennis Snelders Subject: Re: Tori = Real Audio Tracy wrote: > Hi. > > I was wondering if anybody has any files of Tori Amos songs that are > RealAudio?? > And if they would mind sending them to me: Blnkt4Lnus. The forwarding of the News (keyword: *News*) from IGG about pre-ordering the new Tori Single and Kevins' personal recommend was highly appropriate and I am grateful for the Info. Thanks. The other posts have dealt with this *rumor* and I would like to state my opinion that it is wrong to start naming names without direct collaboration by official sources. If you are offering an opinion that is fine, but if you cannot note a direct source, you should not offer anything as fact. I really think we need to concentrate on the excitement of the new release, a new single, a new tour and perhaps a New Tori. We really have no business sticking our noses into any other aspect of her life. Sorry if this seems like a rant all over again, but read Mikewhy's words on the Dent regarding all this. Come on guys! Ivy, Just wanted you to know I was not trying to flame you personally. You obviously did not make your statement sound like fact. I understand your enthusiasm and wanting to take a guess at it, but, well, I've heard several times that there is a stalker who has bothered Tori (mentioned on the Dent) and I'm concerned that facts (or fiction) about her personal life could somehow endanger her. You know what I mean? so please don't take my post personally. I meant it as a general thing for everybody. :-) Fairy Blessings, Beth At 04:24 AM 2/25/98 EST, you wrote: > He's sweet (kind of quiet) and as we >all know, very lucky : ) >Hope this is the correct Englishman ; ) > >Love, >Ivy > > ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 1998 15:32:15 -0500 From: Tripp Gwyn Subject: Saint of Me Has anyone heard the Rolling Stone's song SAINT OF ME? Instead of clogging up your mailboxes with the actual legal code, I've posted it to the web. So anybody who's interested can go to: http://www.ewl.uky.edu/~kdshap0/booting.html What it boils down to, is that as long as you're not making profit off the taping, the most they'll do is confiscate your tapes and your recording material and tell you to quit. As I've seen from the software industry (which may or may not hold true in this context), the governement/RIAA won't bother to prosecute you unless you are attempting to be commercial about it. I meant no offence to anyone, wrote to Ivy personally to let her know I was not personally flaming her, I was trying to make a general comment that the marrige controversy simply doesn't belong on the "News"--if it must be discussed, then it should be on PT. I'm simply against prying into Tori's private life, but I don't make the laws or rules or whatever. Free country. Also not my list. :) I also have the right to explain why I am against this sort of speculation. It is only my opinion after all. When I state that speculation could somehow be dangerous to Tori, that is my opinion that I wish to share with you guys. On the UtP Much Music concert interview, Tori makes mention of a stalker who "wants to tie me up for 18 hours a day and read the bible to me". Then mention of a stalker is made on the Dent in reference to Tori's participation on "Great Expectations". This worries me. I would not want to be stalked and if I was, I wouldn't want people trying to guess or relate private things about me that could be gotten by the stalker. Mention was made to me that if Tori is worried about a stalker, just let Tori do something about it. I approch you all with the reasoning if Tori was doing something to avoid a stalker, part of what she would be doing would be keeping her *private* life Private. I think that is a fair statement. So again, this is only my opinion, but if it were you, how would you want to be treated??? I wish to apoligize to any I might have offended. I site pets dying and loved ones having serious surgery this week as a basis to my not well thought out thoughts. Forgiveness please. *bethey bows her head* Fairy Blessings, Bethey - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm OK when everything's not OK cause it's the Fairies Revenge they say and I have always been a Fairy *************************************************************** Know your Teachers, Learn all you Can, Then go Teach what you have Learned. (this is an anti-spam measure taken to keep junk mail off the list.) however, it's obvious that most of these posts are from legitimate subscribers since they are replies to current discussions. this means that a lot of you are subscribed to the list at one address but posting from another, equivalent, address. so, if you know this is the case or suspect this is the case (because your posts are delayed or never appear), please reply to me and i'll look into it. fixing this up is a good thing because 1) your posts will go through unhindered and 2) it's less work for your ever-lovin' listowners. :) also, while i have my administrator hat on, don't forget that html-encoded mail will be rejected by majordomo. this is because 1) not everyone has a mailer which can handle html-encoded mail, 2) it puts an extra load on the mail server and 3) it screws up the digest. if you use an html-enabled mailer (aol 4.0, netscape communicator, any microsoft mail product, eudora 4, etc.) *please* make sure that your posts are sent only as plain text. thanks, woj co-listguy ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 1998 18:05:32 -0800 From: Shirlgirl Subject: NEW TORI SINGLE!!!!
