Well just thought that I would say when I saw Paula Cole on SNL I immediately thought Tori. Why? Remember in the Little Earthquake (like in the Winter video) phase where Tori wore those skimpy, stringy tops with her back always showing. Paula did the same thing! It was like Tori deja vu. I'm not saying she is trying to be Tori, but in my own demented state I was thinking "Oh my god! Tori use to wear those things!" Paula's armpit hair is rather unappealing, but I suppose I should go to Europe for awhile and I will probably accept it. Sorry for the lack of length. Take care. Buh-bye. Hi, Gang: Okay, Kedren told me her boyfriend heard a snippet of Tori on 99.1 FM WHFS radio here Tuesday afternoon in the Maryland/D.C. area. It would make sense for her to announce an upcoming marriage on 'HFS, as she's had a special relationship with them for some time now, having lived here and all, and having a lot of friends here still. I called the morning jock a few minutes after 6am to see if he could confirm this, but he didn't know anything about it. He said he'd try to find out. It seems to have been a little after 12 noon yesterday when Kedren's boyfriend heard this. 'HFS has a toll-free phone number, and I thought that in addition to those of us who live around here listening for anything, anyone who's awake and aware a little after noon Eastern Time today might feel like calling 'HFS to see if they can confirm this. The number is 1-800-321-WHFS. :-) If this is true I have to believe it will be confirmed in a number of places fairly soon, but maybe we can figure this out sooner rather than later. Tori deserves nothing but happiness of course, and I hope if this story turns out to be true that they will have a long, fulfilling marriage. And if this turns out not to be true maybe we can confirm if it was just a joke or something. Not likely, but anything's possible. So is there any confirmation on who she has been seeing to know who she might be marrying? I heard someone mention that she had been seeing Eric Rosse again recently. Also, does Tori live around the DC area now, or is she still living in London? Thanks, guys. I wish to clarify this to all, I meant no offence, I didn't have any other words I could use to differentiate between the generations on this list. I find what everyone has to say important and insightful, regardless of age. But since I grew up in the 70's, I feel I have a somewhat different prospective than someone of the 80's or 90's. Not better. Just different. Age is quite relative to how one feels, but the gaps between generations always exist. I love this list because it closes those gaps for me and helps me understand my daughter and the world she lives in. I hope the words I say from my past experience helps others understand those of my generation. To keep from demeaning anyone unintentionally by using the terms *adults*(those 30 and over) & *kids* (all other ages), that division shall now be called by me, "Ol' farts" and "Young'ns". Grey Ears is a term only for the Grey Ears Game and in no way reflects positively or negitively on age. There is also a confusion as to the age of Grey Ears. I beg thy pardon King Charlie for misstating the age requirement. I conceed to his majesty, EwF are eligible for Grey Ears status at the age where they can not trust themselves anymore. Website would probably be the best thing--however, there should be a way to limit multiple votes from one person, but not to eliminate two people that use one e-mail account for instance. Actually, web-polls are not very trusted at all, so there should be a way to ensure that the results are accurate and that people cannot cast 'cookies.' The internet-petition could be something like: "We, the listeners of Tori Amos music, hereby cast our petition to have Atlantic Records release a long overdue single that should have been mainstream years ago called "Space Dog" on the Under the Pink album. This petition contains these names:" Name City State Country Zipcode E-mail addresses There should be a clear note somewhere that "if a person votes more than once, it defeats the whole purpose of the petition and write somewhere that it is worse to vote more than once than not vote at all. If the petition is to have any validity to a record company or Tori herself, then it needs to be 100% honest." The only other method that will be extremely honest (because the postmark identifies where it was sent from) is the normal written petition snail-mailed to Tori's publicity person, manager, etc. that will accept them. It shouldn't cost much, because the petitions can be, and should be, sent on a postcard for the cheapest rate. Maybe both methods or even a better idea should be implemented... A kind fellow named BJ sent me some information privately about this, and I checked into it and now have details. The HMV Superstore in Toronto will do mail order to the U.S. I expect they will do mail order to other parts of the world, as well. Give them a call at 1-800-567-8468. The video costs $19.99 Canadian money, and shipping to everywhere in the States is another $9 Canadian. I'm not sure what that works out to these days but it's surely less than $25 in U.S. money. They got 30 copies in yesterday, and have like 20 of them left, and they can order more. They said to expect delivery in seven to ten days after placing your order. Have a credit card ready when you call. BJ also mentioned another place that might ship it down here, but it's a toll call, so I didn't bother calling them to find out the details of ordering from them. Thanks again, BJ! Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Feb 1998 16:23:28 -1000 From: -= Robyn Hode =- Subject: Re: My lyrics I think these five are somewhere in my top 10. I think this post has offended me more than almost anything I have ever read in my life. Never have I seen so many half truths and twisted pieces of logic in one letter. I will not take part in this discussion. I have never doubted Tori for a second, and the evidence you provide for doing so lacks logic and cohesion. To question Tori's integrity in this manner is appalling. It is classic really. Rape victims have traditionally gone through such questioning. One of the reasons Tori did not report her incident to the authorities was the knowledge she would not be believed. The fact that today there are still people who dishonor rape victims in this way is disgusting. I will post a part of an email I received from a devoted Toriphile that reveals my feelings perfectly: "I don't need to go to a dictionary to find out the definition of the word "rape". I don't because I was raped. I don't need to say how and I don't need to say when...'cause it doesn't change the awful facts. Tori Amos said she was raped. This means one thing: she was raped...After reading your section on your page about this...it just burned me up...It hurts me to no end to read that. And it's not even about me. To have to prove yourself...to say "I was raped" and then have people say.."were you really raped" my god...that's one of my fears at least..and to see it actually occuring on the net...ugh." Nicely said. My suggestion is to ignore this rubbish. Sorry to be blunt but that is how I feel. Mikewhy - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael L.
