Sorry about the lateness of this post.. Not likely; it seems to be a reference from to creatures from the dark side, from a book called "Bringers of the Dawn" by Barbara Marciniak. Sorry about the lateness of this post... WeirdyBoi talked about this a couple of months ago - he read a book called "Bringers of the Dawn" by Barbara Marciniak, which Tori has read (and I have recently read it too), and it seems that the reference to the 'Lizzies' is taken from this. A quote from page 31: "... Be kind when you speak of the forces of darkness. Do not speak as if they are bad. Simply understand that they are *uninformed*, and they create systems that are uninformed because that is how they believe they must operate. They fought at one time and separated themselves from knowledge, so now they desperately hold onto their existing knowledge and onto life as they have evolved into being. It is life based on fear, life that does not honor other life, life that uses other life. Who are these beings? They are the reptiles. These space creatures are part human and part reptilian. We call them the Lizzies because we like to make things a little less emotional and a little humorous so that you don't take them so seriously and get do upset. We are not here to frighten you - we are here to inform you. You know all of this inside you, and as you begin to open the history of who you are, some of you will begin to access reptilian memories." When Tori sings about Father Lucifer she's not strictly speaking about the figure known as the Devil, or Satan, in Christianity. Lucifer represents the dark side that operates inside and outside all of us (whether we acknowledge it or not), and Tori's tapping into this dark energy. OK, all you with the collectible book, can you look this up for me? I picked up a promo CD for $5 at a used record shop about a year ago because it had a studio version of "A Case of You" by Tori. It's called Spew You and has 17 seperate artists on it. It's in just a cardboard sleeve, with like a college football party scene for the front pic and printed across the center is a big letter "U" (like a university letter) and the "SPEW" is written across the "U". Printed in small black letters (on the keg!) is "Licensed for promotion only-sale is prohibited". It's a 1995 Atlantic records release #PRCD 6360-2. Any responce would be appriciated. Of course it's collectible! It's Tori! ;) Now, if you're asking if it's rare or worth a lot of money, the answer is not particularly. I've seen several copies recently. There's no information about how many were pressed or anything like that, though. Given how many I can find, though, I imagine that there were quite a lot. :) /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. The boots go for about $10-15 here in the states, so 6 pounds would be a fair price-if you have a boot. If you have the ligitimate promo release, then the 'going' price is anywhere around $30-35. Now, you ask how do you tell the difference? well quality of the pics and cover is the really only known way, the legit is described in the Collectibles book as: ".....The book has a bright orange cover with 'Tori Amos' in the upper left hand corner. The book itself comes in a slip case, also bright orange and also with Tori's name in the same spot. These were extremely scarce when the album first came out and seemed to get easier to procure as time when on............" ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 03 Feb 1998 20:27:14 -0600 From: lilchibi@flash.net Subject: Re: new single raman1@MARSHALL.EDU wrote: >>i'm sorry i didn't save the message to forward to you all, but the Intergalactic Garage just sent out a mailing that said a new Tori single would soon be available. they didn't mention anything more than that. i was wondering if anyone knew any more.<<< *************' I had emailed Intergalatic Garage recently and the man, Allan? said that the "TORI AMOS' NEW SINGLE Out Shortly!! I guess that this is long over and not extremely important but it has been really bugging me for a long time--even before it was brought up on the list. but especially after i knew it was getting all wrong on here. well, i know that she opened Icicle live with "Onward Christian Soldiers" i know that song and knew that it was definately not the piano part on the album version. i didn't want to post that it was not OCS until i did remember what it was. i tried to think of what that hymn was a long time ago and, like someone else's friend on here, always had it on the tip of my tongue. after searching night and day...well maybe not... well, very often anyway after it was brought up on here, the song popped into my head tonight while i was talking to my sister. it is called "I'm Not Ashamed to Own My Lord". i can post the lyrics if anyone is interested in analyzing it...but at least now i can rest. :\ :) tasha ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V3 #44 ************************************
