I just s*bsribed to to list again after several months and even then I was only on the list for a short while. Anyways, Hi. I am a 20 yr old Communications Student at Stanford University. One thing I would seriously like to see done would involve Tori's song "Winter" and a track from Foxy Brown's first album called "If I...", as in "If I could take it back I would, If I could rewind the time to then it was all good, I would...". For those of you that have not heard the Foxy Brown song (I do highly recommend her album, BTW), the lyrics basically deal with the loss of a loved one, albeit in the "mobster" kayfabe of the narrator's point of view. I'd like to hear a "remix" of "If I..." using "Winter" as the music... perhaps maybe even have Tori sing the chorus lyrics to the melody. Does this thread transcend time and space? If so, it would be nifty to hear Tori work with Bowie during the glam part of his career, since some of those songs are piano-based and very beautiful. It would give me goosebumps if she covered "Life on Mars?" or the solo-piano-and-vocal song on _Man Who Sold The World_...and he could reciprocate by covering "Yes, Anastasia". *sigh* Chelsea ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Jan 1998 17:22:13 -0500 From: Space Dog Subject: Landslide Lyrics Thanx to everyone who sent me lyrics. Oompah, loompah, doompidy doo, who the hell are the Dutch Pilots and what about the little monologue she does in the beginning of the song? Now, I understand the meaning of the song about not accepting any of these men, how she find's fault in each one, or maybe about "anonomous" men in her life. But I must know if anyone knows about these pilots or about the story behind it? Oh, yeah, while you're at it, jumbalaya, what's her obcession? Can anyone help to shed some light? That's not *as* bad as Trent allowing Putz Daddy to remix his stuff. Although I must agree that Puffy has no talent. I only heard the song for the first time when "The Dance" ~ the Fleetwood Mac concert ~ was on TV. Then I bought the live CD (which is amazing, except they left off "Gold Dust Woman" . . . grrrr), and I started listening to it all the time. I'm not sure which CD it was originally on, but you can find it on "The Dance", which is the live CD. I understand about your trading problem. My CD player just broke, right in the middle of a trade with two girls. I got their tape, and I feel really bad because I can't send them mine yet. Oops! That's one of my favorite songs! I wish I could have heard the Tori version! "Landslide" By Stevie Nicks Took my love, and I took it down I climbed a mountain and I turned around And I saw my reflection in a snow covered hill Where the landslide brought me down Oh mirror in the sky, what is love? Can a child in my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changing ocean tides, Can I handle the seasons of my life? Mmm, mmm ~ I don't know ~ chorus ~ Well I've been afraid of changing cause I I built my life around you But time makes you bolder Children get older I'm getting older too So . . . (instumental) (chorus) So take this love, take it down Oh, if you climb a mountain and you turn around And if you see my reflection in a snow covered hill, Where the landslide'll bring it down, down And if you see my reflection is a snow covered hill, Well maybe the landslide'll bring it down Well, the landslide'll bring it down . . .
