LE I loved when I got it too, but the first time I heard BFP I thought it was horrible. I absolutely couldn't stand it, except I liked beauty queen andmr. zebra. But now I love all of the songs. And on BFP the song Twinkle has just recently become one of my favorites. On UTP I love Yes, Anastasia and Cloud on my Tongue. And on LE I really like Mother. It is kind of like when you first hear a CD you pick out your favorite songs and stuff but after becoming accustomed to the artist you kind of have a whole new set of favorite songs. I guess the reason I liked Tori so much is because that is the kind of music I always heard. Like my brother would always play his Carlos Santana CD's so I kind of got used to that "real" music sound. ~Hanna~ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Jan 1998 01:31:30 -0700 From: Nancy Motherway Subject: RE: Question about one of the songs on the GE score That sounds like Italian. "Perdre" is the French verb for "to lose", and that sounds very similar to Perduto. Paradiso is obvious, so my guess is that the phrase means "paradise lost". It's probably Italian or Spanish or Portuguese. Natalie ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Jan 1998 12:39:06 +0100 From: Fonty Subject: Re: Love among Toriphiles. (Indeed!) Hi. :) >> I wanted to know if there were any Toriphiles that, like, fell in love >> over the net, or other places.=20 Since nobody answered to that (because all had to discuss faked "nude" photographs) I feel like writing something about love over the Internet (TM). I always wanted to share this with other ToriEnthusiasts, but I didn=B4t yet. It=B4s a long story, but I can also make it short. I=B4ll probably only get= 5 minutes of fame instead of 15, but that is okay. Well, here it goes: (short version, only slightly romantic) About 19 months ago, in June 1996, I got email from a nice Tori fan in America and she asked me about my site. For some reason we didn=B4t stop writing after a couple of days. More time passed. More emails were exchanged. We wrote about Tori and her music and music in general at first, later we wrote about ourselves and the emails got more personal. And we started liking each other. Especially after I blew quite a lot of money on two rather long telehpone calls. For some reason CrossAtlantic phone calls are quite expenisve in Germany. :) Anyway. We discovered that we also liked each other on the phone. As time went by, we exchanged even more emails and snail-mail packages and shorter phone calls and RealAudio files! :) And we chatted a lot in PowWow and ICQ (for hours and hours). Time went on and on and I finally got enough money together to give it all to Continental Airlines and American Express. In return I got three nice weeks of staying in the U.S. of A.=20 And so, after 16 months of emails, phone and etc, in October 1997, we met in person. And so, we realized that we were right with our feelings for each other. :) That we did fall in love over the nice Internet back in 1996. :) And since we have met in the "real world" we are sure about that. :) And I=B4ll fly back there this year and she=B4ll fly to Germany, too. :) And eventually (more time will pass) we have to choose the country. :) Now, 19 months and 1750 emails since it all began, we are still in love. Yes. :) And I=B4m not quite sure whom to thank. Probably WebCrawler for showing my site and Tori, just because she seemed to have started everything. :) That would be it. :) Love and Peace on Earth. :) =20 ~Fonty. :) - --=20 Visit my Online World: http://fonty.simplenet.com including information about me, my friends, my favourite artists,=20 mainly Tori Amos and others ... - ---- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Jan 1998 13:06:08 +0000 From: Mike Gray Subject: NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS : PLEASE READ AND TAKE NOTE! I've grown to like most of the rest of the album (but I probably will never get to like "Springtime of his Voodoo" or Agent Orange or Way Down) but if I were to rate my favorite albums in order, BFP is last. Last night I bought an import of Precious Little Diamonds 2 (best 25 bucks I've spent in a while). They also had a copy of YKTR (not the original.....it was YKTR plus rarities like Song For Eric) but poor me, I had no more money after PLD2. When I first fell in love with Tori, it was through SATY and then Winter, so I was starting at the beginning. My friends let me listen to LE and I took it from her for a while. Then I found UtP in a used CD store for $2.50! That COULD NOT be passed up! I bought it even though I had never heard it. I went over to my friend's house that day and we popped it in, she had it of course, making me feel like a doofus for being that excited. After UtP was completely through, she and I were sitting on her floor, with large mugs of coffee. She looked at me and said "There's one more." I said, "One more what?" She said "Hang on, you'll see." Then I heard that strummed G which starts Beauty Queen. That day was my total dose of Tori day, and I loved every minute of it. I went from crying with Tori through SATY, Winter, Bells for Her, Icicle and Marianne, to dancing and thrashing around the room to the likes of Professional Widow. Ever since that day, I have been in love with Tori. I now have 20 CDs, including compilations (Suchas 'Tower of Song' and the Higher Learning and GE sndtrks) I want to thank my friend Emily Might even though she's not ever on the list. If it wsn't for her and what she did for me by introducing me to Tori, I wouldn't have all the friends and interesting people I now have in #tori on the undernet and on here. I've been listening to Tori since LE first came out, and I think I'll never forget my first time hearing and seeing her. I was watching VH1 and the video for SATY came on and I flipped to another channel... then I flipped back. I watched it mesmerized by her and her red hair and her words and just the emotion of the song. I wasn't quite sure what the song meant at that time, but I could tell by her voice and the way she sang that she meant what she said - with all of her heart. I quickly became a fan and have adored her ever since. She means so much to me, and I feel as if she helps me through my problems because I can identify with her experiences... so I feel like I am not alone. Sometimes my family and friends can't even help me like Tori and her piano can. I was even lucky enough to meet her back in '92. It was an experience I will never forget.
