I was just wondering if anyone had any good interpretations (or any interpretations, good or otherwise! ;) Of Sister Janet they'd be willing to share? This song really fascinates me, but it boggles me as well. I've heard a few interesting things, but I'd like to hear what all of you think too. Thanks a lot! Bright Blessings and Lollipops! Thought you might want to know what some people think of Tori... In a "Previews" comic catalog from Januaray 1996(international edition) there was a little thing about the "Death:High Cost Of Living" collection by Neil Gaiman, for which Tori did the introduction. They wrote "Written by Neil Gaiman with an introduction by HEAVY METAL SINGER AND LESBIAN ACTIVIST TORI AMOS". Ummm. yeah, right. Hi guys, Here's some news from the DC comics online AOL chat with Neil Gaiman that was a few weeks ago(it wasn't advertised...he just showed up, apparently)... Neil Gaiman said that he's asked painter John Bolton to hide Tori in one of the panels of the new Desire 16-page story that will appear in the "Vertigo's Winter Edge" Special, coming out soon. He also said that Tori was his inspiration for the new second mini-series of "The Books Of Faerie", due out in early '98. Also, doesn't have to do with Tori but, you should pick up the new "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess. It's about a guy in the eighteenth century who goes to look for a fallen star for his love but falls in love with the star and his torn between his mixed heritage of human and faerie. Issue #1 came out last week and the next three will come out every six weeks. That's all for now, Josh ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Nov 1997 10:55:46 -0500 (EST) From: Alexander Jay Timin Subject: I found another one A few months ago I 'advertised' that I had an unopened Y Kant Tori Read bootleg cd (German boot). A new single boot CD shouldn't go for more than $20-$30. If the poster here has already sold this one, you can check out Rainy Day Records by emailing them at rainy@conch.net or calling them at (800)636-6166. If you're just interested in a cassette copy of this, email me and we can work something out. :) /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. Well, there are no legit videos for either of those. {I don't count the special Australian UtP promo release cause 1) it's not in a format that we in the US can watch without either a dual-format VCR or an expensive conversion to our format, and 2) I've never seen it. ;) } However, you can ask around here or the other Tori lists {tori-boot may be a good place} and see if someone could copy what they've copied off of television for you. There's usually a Tori-fan out there who's willing to do so for the cost of the tape and postage. I don't have anything beyond the LE video {and don't have the means to copy videos anyway}, so I can't help you out; hopefully someone here will be able to. :) Good luck! And let me know what the videos are like. I've never seen any of the BfP videos in full. {I did get to see the last 5-10 seconds of the Talula video in a J.C.Penney, a place I -never- figured I'd see Tori. But then, I also heard SATY in a Hooters, which also struck me as incongruous.} /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. Sister Janet is one of my favorite Tori songs. I have a little interpretation on my page. It's not too in-depth, but I'd be glad to elaborate to anyone who is interested. You can read what I think at: http://www.geex.org/~poca/homepage/janet.html I just found this mailing list, and I really look forward to sharing my love for Tori with you all.
