Bad news for Upside Down members. -Greg ("he writes letters...") RAINN CONCERT VIDEO A video of Tori's "RAINN Benefit" concert (New York, 1/23/97) will be released in the UK this month. I don't know the exact date but one source says it will be out on the 13th; check your local video or music store. This 90-minute video is an official release, not a bootleg. It is reviewed in the November issue of "Q" magazine. Tori's management says they don't know if or when the video will be released in the US. (Unfortunately, European videotapes will NOT work in US videoplayers, you'd have to get the tape converted from PAL to NTSC format.) UPSIDE DOWN FAN CLUB Tori's management announced that they are no longer supporting the Upside Down fan club based in Clearwater, Florida. The former official Tori Amos fan club has fallen on hard times in recent years and does not appear to exist any longer. Both "Take To The Sky" in the UK and "Really Deep Thoughts" in the US are now being endorsed by Tori's management as the official fan clubs. You can learn more details at the RDT web site - (http://www.concentric.net/~rdtzine) For those of you that sent money to "Upside Down" and never received anything, sorry, I don't know what you can do. _________________ |\ | | _/ .`-| Greg Burrell | , http://www.webville.com/~tori \ .4 | ---------- |\__// `--'\|gregb@netcom.com|`--' C|________________| ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Oct 1997 12:48:57 PDT From: "Ashre, Ashre" Subject: New WebRing of Tori I've just created a new web ring called: "My Heart is Sick of Being in Chains". First, if you have a newer VCR, it might be multi-system and therefore you don't need to convert the tape... But if you do, you can try at places that fix TVs and VCRs and stuff. They can usually do it. My Uncle used to do it and he charged $15 per tape, but that was about ten years ago. I don't know how much it is now... josh ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Oct 1997 22:32:03 -0400 From: jlovoi@sps.edu (Senorita Monkeyshines) Subject: LOOKING FOR SOMEONE Guys, I'm looking for someone with the screen name rain. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some contractual thing with Lifetime Television precluding its release on home video for a specified period, but I'm just speculating on that. TV stuff tends to be even more bogged down with lawyers than even record companies, though, so, along with the general level of frustration I suspect most of us feel as a matter of course anyway when it comes to the manner in which Tori's items are and are not released, this strikes me as being par for the course. And, for those of us in NTSC-ville, video format-wise, is just another case of unrequited excitement.
