All of the US singles are usually pretty readily available in Best Buy. If you have one, Circuit City also is pretty good. Recently, I've been finding a lot of singles and vinyl {not polystyrene, Richard ;) } in Tower as well. /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. Correct? Well, I am! I'm Dutch! I too am a newbie at this list, so I'll introduce myself a bit first. I'm a 16 yrs old male student from The Netherlands and i've been a Tori fan for almost 2 years. About the singles-affair: Here in holland, it's quite easy to get Tori Amos singles, especially the US ones. Allthough UK is less far away, the old UK singles are impossible to find in record stores. That's why I often go to record fairs. (there will be one on 8 and 9 november in Utrecht) On those fairs, it's VERY easy to get those singles. For instance, last year, one salesman at the record fair had *three* limited edition Past the Mission singles still packed in plastic and with a perfect digipack!! Of course I immediately purchased it, and the CD itself wasn't damaged at all, so it's quite obvious that it was all new! And that was only last year, when the Past the Mission single had been 'out of print' for like 2 years! If the single was Out of print, then where has it been all those years? Maybe in one of those =93one stop stores=94? Another thing: I always wonder why Tori (and lots of other artists) releases different singles for both the UK and the US. I=92m mean, WHY does it have to be different? Is it because the real fans will buy both singles? Is that really the only reason? For instance: the Cals release. If you live in the UK or Europe and you want to have all songs tori releases (like me), you also have to buy the US release or the german single because =91Graveyard=92 isn=92t on the UK single. That=92s just ex= tremely annoying! Why can=92t they release just one single that=92s the same for = the whole world?? That would certainly be a lot easier and less frustrating! I know that the UK and the US have different label companies (EastWest and Atlantic) but can=92t they cooperate? If any of the persons who work in a record store can answer these questions, please do. thanks for reading, Dennis Snelders Check out my *Europe and Holland related* Tori page http://www.geocities.com/hollywood/lot/1017/littleamsterdam.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Oct 1997 13:21:20 -0400 From: Janie and Douglas Subject: Newcomer - ----------I have just subscribed, so, in good netiquette form...let me = introduce myself: Handle: Lady Delirium Real name: Shana pronounced Shayna Age: turned 20 in July Sex: have to ask? *giggle* Job/aspirations: I currently work in a book store by day and tend bar by = night. I have two questions, in case you hadn't guessed yet! I'd really appreciate it if anyone can provide me with answers. 1) Does anyone here have More Pink (Australian 2-CD version of UtP with an extra disc of bee-sides)? I have a taped copy and was just wondering what the original CD version looks like. I have heard conflicting stories, and wanted to know which was true. One person told me it looks just like the regular UtP CD, except that inside there are 2 CDs, and someone else told me it's a double CD (like, the big wide, double-CD cases) with a different cover picture and everything. Which is right? If neither, what DOES it look like? (I don't have access to the Tori Collectibles Book, that's why I'm asking here) 2) Does anyone have a recording of the Oct. 22, 1996 Miami DDI show? I was at that show and would really like to have a copy of it, you know, for sentimental reasons! Thanks a million for any and all help! Bright Blessings and Lollipops! I hate to correct Rain, but the late night TV show Voodoo was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, the night of May 15, 1996. It was *wonderful*. I still think it was the best single song I ever saw her do on television. Right around then on the tour was when she and Caton had really gotten into the swing of extemporizing musical dialog for the break during that song, and I thought this Conan performance was the best TV example they did of that. She was not all dressed up like a china doll or something the way she was for the Letterman show on October 4 last year--she was just dressed casually, and it showed in the music. It was awesome. Caton is cool.
