I WORK IN A RECORD STORE, SO READ MY POST!!!! :P anyway, yes.. i do work in a record store so i can answer this question from a retail ass. manager for blockbuster music. (ever in atlanta, come see me.. perimeter mall location.. soon to be "Fresh Cuts") so anyway... here is my answer to the "out of print" question: i have worked in this store for 2 years now. one time i ordered everything on tori in the computer just to see what would come in. what came in was all of the US singles and a few imports. these sold like hot cakes, so i ordered more. these sold, and then we stopped carrying imports for some unknown reason. so, when i re-ordered these singles, only the US cd's would continue to come into stock. these now sell constantly... give it a maximum of 2 months and i have to reorder all of them again. (now, when i say "them", i mean the usual everyday US cd singles for winter, god, cornflake girl, caught a lite sneeze, talula, professional widow, and in the springtime of his voodoo). when i reorder these, they do not come from the blockbuster warehouse. they come from a "one stop". this is the place between a retail store and the record company itself. i am not sure weather or not the "one stops" have stocked up on these cds or not (anyone work at a one stop?) . and, no, we do not normally carry cd singles by everyone that are 3 years old. this brings up something else. US cd singles have a shelf life (or stay in print) for aprox. 3 months. afterthat, you are lucky if you ever see them again. so, yes i would imagine that atlantic records still has the US cd singles in print. when someone mentioned earlier that "all of the LE and UTP singles are out of print now", they were wrong. the UK singles are out of print, but the US ones are not. in my computer at work, these cd say "special order only". if they truely were out of print and unavailable it would say "inactive sku" when you looked them up. so, i stock them at my store because they sell. i have noticed other stores do the same as well. if it sells, you want to stock it. i tried something and it worked... i am not "selling tori out", i am simply providing myself with a paycheck every week. ps... i just ordered the US vinyl for "UtP" and "BfP" and both came in!!! so, i am guessing those are not out of print at the moment either even though they both state on the front (as the winter single) "special limited edition". - -rusty ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ check out my web page! Sometimes, small independent record storew will stock them. Rainy Day Records used to have a -bunch- of Indigo Girls concert photos, for example. Another local store, Wax'n'Facts, had concert photos the last time I was in there {which was over a year ago, now that I think about it}. I often seen folks selling them at record shows, too. /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. Correct? Someone mentioned "What? you don't have all the singles yet? And you call yourself a Torifan?" .. errrr.. I don't have _any_ single of Tori, but I _am_ a fan (I realized it just a week ago :-), but I don't think I am one of those who want to have/know eve rything of/about her). Someone by any chance have a list of singles? What about vinyl? Does atlantic produce vinyl too, or do they just print CDs? What about the personality of Tori. I have been looking at some photographs of her on a Tori-site (can't remember the url, but you prolly know which one I mean). On some photos there is a glimpse of her thinking "My God, another one" or "Allright, I'll tr y to look nice" (I have a vivid imagination, so maybe I am wrong). Is she really that nice in rl? Hmm, maybe a stupid question .. anyway. All the best, Marco - -- Marco F.E.J. If any one is interested, let me know. OR, if anyone knows if such a gathering is happening in, say, Milwaukee or Madison or somewhere larger, I probably could do a short road trip. I only know one other Toriphile personally and he lives in Madison and I never ever see him, so a good gathering of us ears with feet would very much do my spirit some good!!! Strangely enough, Tori's music is the soundtrack to my life, in a way. My life seemed to be going through much of the same convolutions as hers at the same times so that the songs always HIT HOME in a way that leaves me breathless. This is why I am especially anxious to hear the new album...are we still running "parallel"? Even if this is not the case, I am most confident that I will like the album. She is magical. She is closer to the TRUTH than most human beings. Well, thats enough of that. There are US singles, UK singles, Australian singles, French singles, German singles . . . lots of stuff. It doesn't include the RAINN stuff produced this year.} Offhand, these are the US singles I can come up with: Crucify, Winter, God, Cornflake Girl, Caught a Lite Sneeze, Talula, Hey Jupiter, In the Springtime of His Voodoo . . . I'm certain I'm missing some, though. For the UK and related parts, there have been -many- more singles, plus they get all the nifty limited edition stuff. Me and a Gun, Silent All These Years, Winter, Crucify, God, Cornflake Girl, Past the Mission, Pretty Good Year, Caught a Lite Sneeze, Talula, Hey Jupiter/Professional Widow . . . again, I'm missing lotsof stuff, I'm sure. > What about vinyl? Does atlantic produce vinyl too, or do they just print CDs? There has been a vinyl released for each album. The LE album was a plain black one, IIRC. UtP had two releases: a pink vinyl one and a black vinyl one. BfP is available in clear vinyl.
