THE SUBJECT IS BASED ON A JOKE THAT WAS IN THE ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE SHOW... Has anyone here recieved any reply from tori from writing to Spivak or Really Deep Thoughts? I was "into" writing letters to people at TV shows, music, books, et cetera I liked, and I ALMOST always recieved really nice replies. Jim Davis, creator of the comic Garfield, sent me this signed Garfield & Odie print... which I still love! Socks the cat sent an autographed 8x10... which I still have.... the cast of (YEECH!) Beverly Hills, 90210, sent a big postcard... which I burned up recently... Ann M. Martin, author, sent tons of stuff, like a letter which did state "If I personally responded to all of my mail, I couldn't write any books! I do read most of it, though." (which is true by the way. I also found out that any letters that they think were written by someone seeking help are faxed to a psychologist, who then gets back to the kid), bookmarks, teasers for upcoming books (I still have these!), and other cool stuff. However, Betsy Byars (who is a great writer who has written since the 1970s, and her second book won the Newberry Medal, but still many people do not know her, I have tons of her stuff) sent a photo-biography, a letter that actually answered my questions, a picture of her that says "Keep up your writing Nicky! Betsy" (I had mentioned in the letter I wrote a lot), a bookmark, and lots of other stuff. For Alanis MOrissette, I got back stuff from a fan club (actually, it was a cool sticker postcard...). My mom loves Jewel so much she wrote her a fan letter... Bye bye... Tarot Rower! You got an E-mail from Tarot, A.K.A. Basically the "tropics" thing came from an interview she did with "Q" magazine in the UK in June, where she is quoted as saying "I'm *writing* the whole record in the tropics. It's great to watch the lizards and drink margaritas while you're writing. The humidity influences the whole rhythm of the songs - your hip sways differently and my left hand is not the same as it was before. It's so humid, as soon as you take a shower you regret it. I love the heat, although it's absolutely necessary to ship in a lot of French perfume" Cheers Mike E-mail : michael@pta15.u-net.com (\o/) then visit my web pages at http://www.pta15.u-net.com/mike/index.html /_\ For Gloria Estefan, Peach and Erasure information and Links! e.d.a. I only have a bootleg version of the CD, so consequently no lyric book (if there was one in the first place), and to top it off the sound quality is pretty abyssmal. If you are able to help with my little dilemma, could please send the mail to my other e-maila ccounbt (which is not subscribed to the list but it's my home account so kinda more convenient). It seems to be little earthquakes era, and its really incredible... And I'm surprised and disappointed to learn that the OkToriFest is the weekend of Rosh Hashana. Yes, the holiday will end Friday night, but it still makes things difficult...but then again, the next weekend, the holiday is ON the weekend and that would certainly have been worse.
