Regarding Dew Drop Inns in general, there are many around the US. I'm also told that there is at least one in London; while I was researching locations last year, one Torifan wrote and told me that the "Real World: London" cast went and hung out there in one of the shows. Anyway, I'm fairly certain I now have *all* of the locations of current DDIs in the US. (One day, when I finally manage to get all of my Tori info together in some sane way, you'll be able to see the listings on a Tori section of my [so far blank] Web page. BTW, I've been saying that for about a year now, but work has begun in earnest lately.) Another interesting bit of DDI trivia is that a character on an episode of "The Odd Couple" played a gig at a Dew Drop Inn. See,... there are a lot of people who love Tori and come up with different kinds of Tori info, and you have to figure out where you fit into that picture. So *my* Tori specialty involves ferreting out trivia regarding references made in the songs. That's my contribution, meager though it may be. ;) Violet xoxox * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean I * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Aug 1997 22:06:49 -0400 From: vivisectvi@juno.com (katie a dunseath) Subject: Tori Amos Bootleg Trading... Where can > I pick up a copy of this music? I'm always on the look-out for great > new sounds! I got my copy from cdconnection.com. Reasonable prices, reasonable selection, reasonable delivery time. Doesn't have everything, and not rock-bottom prices, but good enough for many purchases. Susan McKeown's highly recommended by me. Also, someone was mentioning Katell Keineg's _Jet_ release. Note that in *my* opinion, you should get _O Seasons O Castles_ if you want intensity. _Jet_ is more refined, composed, and subtle. _O Seasons_ is passionately honest, with striking imagery which sometimes borders on the surreal (the monkey with a rabbi's face hanging on it's leash) - her voice heartily invokes the demons with which she wrestles in "Hestia", and banishes them with her assertion of her own right to accept "anything that isn't all" she wants. I was thinking in the shower today (don't even ask my how I got on the subject, I'm not entirely sure, my mind goes to interesting places that early in the morning) about Tori and her singing Smells Like Teen Spirit and then singing it combined with American Pie after Kurt Cobain died. I was wondering- is there any proof (well, I know there wouldn't be proof per se in the strictest sense) that Tori and Kurt had met up, or what they thought of each other? I mean, I know in the interview CD, the one that come with the Mick St. Michael book, she says that she really loved Nirvana and thought that their music was great (that sounds trite, but you know what I mean). But I don't remember reading anything or hearing anything that talks about them meeting, or what their relationship was like (if they were buds, if there was a mutual respect thing going etc etc etc). I assume it was good, otherwise she wouldn't have been allowed to cover SLTS probably, but....I was just wondering if any of you out there had any info on that. Thanks!
