Well, I've had a few dreams where Tori pops in and out, most of them quite plan and nothing the brag about. . . .but I must tell you about this one. We were aboard the Star Trek Starship U.S.S Voyager and I was Captain Chakotay and Tori and Captain Kathryn Janeway. So there we were, flying through the uncharted quadrant 70,000 light years from home when suddenly, Tori yells "What that ahead of us Jeremy?". . . and I reply calmly "They appear to be your music coming right at us!!". So there we were, flying towards Tori's music (which were Tori's song titles in the shape of alian ships) when one of the ships (I think the first one of Yes, Anastasia) crashes into the side of Voyager. Harry Kim yells out "Shields at %60 and dropping". . . then came Cornflake Girl and then Crucify and then Marianne . . . all hitting our ship (but not direct hits). . . .Harry Kim yells again "Shields continuing to drop Tori, should we make evasive manoeuvres?" . . . Tori quickly states yells "NO!!! Stay on the same heading. . . we mush make it home!". Tori's song titles continued to pound Voyager, when all of a sudden, they stopped! I said "Is that all of the song Tori? Have we seen all of them?" "No, there one more Jeremy. . . . Guess?" Tori said. Voyager was so damaged by this time that the warp engine of offline and had stoped. Voyager has also had some hull breaches. Thinking about which song still remained to be seen, I saw Me And A Gun and it appeared to be the mother ship (as it was the largest so far) heading straight for us. BANG!!!!! Voyager was smashed into tiny pieces floating through the quadrant . . . . Then I woke up in a fit of fright. . . . .we were destroyed by Tori's songs ;-) Thanks for reading, Jeremy Cannon jcannon@camtech.net.au ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Aug 1997 10:26:09 -0400 (EDT) From: Lady Eorann Subject: Re: More Neil stuff On Tue, 26 Aug 1997, FLOOD wrote: > Um I heard a rumour from a friend that one of the girls from "The Craft" > (not the one from Party of 5, one of the others) would be playing Death. I'm looking for this particular site and, if my description happens to ring a bell in anyone's skull, I would greatly appreciate the address. The site contains tons of quotes by Ms. Amos, concerning each of her songs and why she wrote them. It's one of the most wordy sites I've ever seen but it's so jam-packed with info that, well, I thought it was awesome. It has an animated butterfly in the beginning and also contains her interp's on some of her B-side songs. It's wonderful and if anyone could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks. becky The site is The Tori Song Place, and it can be found at members.aol.com/WeirdyBoy/ToriIndex.html There is a lot of information there, and it's well worth the time to read it all :) Lady Eorann wrote Yvette.Hi. I was on the Neil gaiman NG recently and several people reported that Neil himself has said that the production of the Sandman movie has been halted at least temporarily. I don't know how accurate it is. As for the Death movie, I read an interview in last month's INquest where he said he was working on a rough draft of the script based (and exapnding upon) the High Cost of LIving mini. He also said he wants to direct, because after what happened with Neverwhere (they took all the control away from him and just did whatever they wanted with his story -- just another case of the writer getting screwed), he wants as much control over his characters and his material as he can get. Hope it works out. BTW, who do you see portraying Death? Bright Blessings and Lollipops! Yvette. I think a good choice would be Natalie Portman, the actress who played Mathilda in The Professional. True, she was only 13 then, but she's 16 now, and would likely be 17 or older by the time Hollywood got off it's butt and made the movie. I read somewhere that Neil considers this to be about the right apparent age for Death anyway. -Dave ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Aug 1997 09:44:14 From: Dave Woodson Subject: Tori Interview Richard Handal wrote: That was an excerpt from the Irish Music magazine Hot Press, the issue of February 23, 1994. There's been a lot of demand for a sequel, and, well, here it is! For those of you who haven't been around this long, let me fill you in. Tori Amos has released three albums (+ Y Kant Tori Read) and a lot of B-side songs. She's written a lot of her recorded material herself, and has also done quite a few covers. Having contributed to two tribute albums (Leonard Cohen & Led Zeppelin) she is familiar with the concept of this, but my proposal here is to make a tribute album for Tori Amos. It will consist of tracks recorded by Tori Amos fans, i.e. YOU!!! If you feel like recording a Tori Amos song for Tori Amos Covered 2, you can visit the Tori Amos Covered Homepage: http://www.bart.nl/~mfgr/toriamos.htm This page contains information on what to do if you want to join this project. You can then email me, and I will provide you with details on where to send your material. Tori Amos Covered 1 was a big success, many people on the Net can testify to this as they are the proud owners of a tape and/or CD of the project. Just like the first time around, Tori Amos Covered 2 will be presented to Tori Amos herself, and a tape will be given to those of you who send in a track. Others will be given the opportunity to buy a copy of the Tori Amos Covered 2, which will, if all goes well, and depending on the input, contain a CD-ROM portion. If you feel like contributing, please get in touch!
