Hi, everyone. I posted this to the newsgroup, and the only response I got was that my thread marker was incorrect. Well, that's fine--I'm new. But I'd still like to do some trading. I'd especially like any of her Los Angeles shows. If anyone wants to trade live shows (I admit that I don't have much right now), please e-mail me (oneiromant@aol.com). My list (on CD exc. where indicated): Montreal 1993, Tori & Her Mask (1994), Sweet Old England (3/9/96), Dew Drop Inn Boulder (11/11/96), Poughkeepsie 96 (tape only), Florida 4/12/96 (tape only). Also, Tori Stories, all of her B-sides except dance mixes, Y Kant Tori Read, various broadcast performances, LE demos & Outtakes, Tea with the Waitress, World Cafe (on tape only). thanks! Swoon--I'll catch you! http://members.aol.com/oneiromant/Borneo.html <--my Tori page ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Jul 1997 11:39:55 +0000 From: "Gucci Little Piggy" Subject: (Fwd) Re: New Tori CDs??? > Date: Thu, 24 Jul 1997 22:34:19 -0400 > From: Nadyne Mielke > I'm not familiar with the other boots that are listed, but this > "WEdding Performace" boot is the same as disc 1 of Tori Stories and > of Ultra Rarities". :) I'm not familiar with the other imprints, but the "Wedding Performance" CD has some lovely artwork on the disc itself; looks like a forest or something. And the Under The Pink solo piano demos are lovely. On the subject, can anyone identify the songs Tori played at the wedding? I've never heard of them. Evergreen; If; You Needed Me; You Light Up My Fire; We've Only Just Begun Are they hymns are something, or proper songs (forgive my ignorance; I'm not a Christian). I did a traceroute to www.aye.net a while back and there's a million different networks between me and 'it'. Sometimes (usually the weekend) I can't even load it without the images, it comes through to me at about 70 bytes a second! I did complete research on all these titles soon after someone gave me a tape with that stuff on it back in 1994. See below. "It's a Happy Day" was recorded in late August or early September of 1978, and had zero to do with any "Baltimore sessions." (Although recorded *in* Baltimore.) What is THE ONE Tori song (okay - you can have a tie) that > did it for you; that made you say 'I've gotta go out and get > everything I can by this person?' Like so many I can't really point to any one particular song - Tori sort of grew on me over a long time. I appreciate her almost shamanistic approach to song-writing. I was intrigued by Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink; Perhaps the most moving to me were China and Bells for Her, though the livelier ones also were very haunting (Yes, Anastasia; etc.). I got Cornflake Girl (w/Sister Janet), and really liked it but didn't really get into b-sides until I traded a tape and then I started getting them. Oh, I also *really* like "Ettienne" lately, as well as Happy Workers (my 4-year-old son goes nuts whenever that one comes on!). I have the kids (4/8) guess who is singing - they know to try "Tori Amos", "Happy Rhodes", "Ingrid Karklins", "Katell Keineg", "Loreena McKennitt", and "Sarah McLachlan" as good choices. > Poll #2. What do you do? Student? Studying what? Working? Doing > what? All of the above: I work for a computer company creating Unix operating systems software; I go to school part-time (working on a masters in computer science); I teach / study music part-time, and write poetry, play / write music, paint / draw, and take care of the kids --- so it's never a dull moment (though not enough of them). BTW, do I win the award for oldest fogey on the list (I don't think so - I'm only 39 ... but thought I'd ask just for fun) Moonlight, Music, and the Goddess(es)! - -Richard. @ \@/ Richard A. Maybe you're old and a fogey but I'll shortly be 55 and I'm probably not the oldest. You'll probably feel younger when the kids are grown.
